A guidance mechanism with an extremely low friction coefficient, compact size, and high precision can be obtained at a low cost.
The LM stroke is a finite stroke type linear motion system that can guide both rotational and reciprocating motion. Inside the precisely ground cylindrical outer tube, balls and a ball cage are incorporated. The arrangement of the balls is staggered to evenly distribute the load. The ball cage uses a lightweight and highly rigid aluminum alloy cage, allowing it to adequately follow high-speed motion. Additionally, thrust rings and retaining rings are assembled on both sides of the inner diameter of the outer tube to prevent the ball cage from overrunning.

basic information
▼Features ○ Extremely low friction coefficient → The balls and the rolling surfaces of the balls have point contact, which results in the smallest rolling loss, and since each ball is separated and held by a ball cage, rolling motion can occur with an extremely low friction coefficient (μ=0.0006 to 0.012). ○ Compact design → Due to the cross-sectional shape that combines a thin-walled outer cylinder and the balls, the outer diameter of the bearing can be kept small, resulting in a lightweight and space-saving compact design. ○ High precision at low cost → This is a high-precision product that incorporates precision steel balls (sphericity, mutual difference: 0.0003mm) specified in JIS B 1501 (ISO 3290) into a copper alloy ball cage. ▼Product Lineup ○ Light load type ST → Designed for light loads with a long stroke length. Sealed versions are also available. ST-UU type ○ Medium load type ST-B → Same dimensions as the ST type, but with a shorter stroke length and double the rated load for medium loads. Sealed versions are also available. ST-UUB type ○ Inner ring type STI → If hardening of the LM shaft is not possible, an inner ring can be incorporated for use. The inner ring is made to order.
