Yupo Corporation is a joint venture established in May 1969 with the aim of commercializing petrochemical synthetic paper, through equal investment by Oji Paper Co., Ltd. (now Oji Holdings Corporation) and Mitsubishi Oil Co., Ltd. (now Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation).
