**Selection Reason** "We can evolve it ourselves." Outsourcing the system is difficult both in terms of cost and the potential for system development, so we decided to move in the direction of building it ourselves. We planned to create it using programming languages like Python and Perl, along with free database applications. During a meeting with professors from the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, I learned that they were using middleware called RCM System Software for large-scale data management in their Belle experiment system. Their experiment is also large-scale and involves data processing processes similar to those in astronomy. Thinking it might be relevant, I contacted the software vendor and found out that it was middleware developed by a former researcher from the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, who had overcome similar challenges and commercialized that know-how.
