The back of the block is equipped with a corrosion-resistant "back material (expanded metal)," and the backfill material is utilized as self-weight. Traditionally, the backfill material was intended for collecting groundwater behind the retaining wall, but now it can be used not only for drainage purposes but also as 100% self-weight. This allows for a reduction in the cross-section of the concrete part of the retaining wall itself, enabling cost savings.
