Lubrication in extremely harsh environments!
Graphite, also known as black lead, is represented by the chemical symbol C and is an allotrope of carbon, like diamond. Graphite has a structure where carbon atoms (C) are arranged in a regular hexagonal pattern. This structure has strong bonds in the horizontal direction, but only weak bonding forces in the vertical direction, which gives it low friction properties. Graphite is a very stable material and is mainly used in environments where fluorine resin and molybdenum disulfide cannot be used.
