Company information
In the seventh year of the Meiji era, Toyokichi Togawa, the first generation, founded the plastering company "Daiwaya" in Niigata's Furumachi. At the time of its establishment, the company focused on creating earthen walls for storehouses, which were said to be the pinnacle of plastering craftsmanship, and particularly left behind masterpieces in the sculpting techniques of Western-style buildings. The reliefs at places such as the Niigata Hotel, Italia-ken, and the Sumiyoshi-cho branch of the Fourth Bank (now relocated) received great acclaim and continue to be talked about to this day.
