Participation in the "Japan Climate Initiative" Climate Change Initiative

Japan Itomic Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sumida-ku, Tokyo, President: Hirofumi Moriya) announced on April 27, 2021, its participation in the "Climate Change Initiative," agreeing to "join the forefront of the world in the pursuit of decarbonization."
The "Climate Change Initiative" is a loose network of various entities, including companies, local governments, organizations, and NGOs, that actively engage in climate change measures, excluding national governments. In the United States, businesses, state governments, and municipalities have formed a network called "We Are Still In," which continues to work on strengthening climate change measures even after the Trump administration's announcement to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. Following this initiative in the U.S., movements to create cross-sectoral organizations of diverse actors outside of national governments have begun in other countries as well. The "Climate Change Initiative" aims to collaborate with these international movements.
