Not only can it model waste heat systems based on the principles of the Rankine cycle, but it can also model systems that use thermoelectric materials to directly convert temperature differences into electricity. "iconCFD" is a program developed based on OpenFOAM(R). It has the capability for automatic generation of analysis models, exhibits high convergence, and fixes known bugs in OpenFOAM. Additionally, improvements have been made with consideration for ease of use as a tool. OpenFOAM is a collection of computational codes for physical fields that is trademarked by OpenCFD, a subsidiary of ESI Group. It is released as open-source code under the GPL license, written in C++. Its functionalities range widely from mesh creation to solvers for fluid dynamics, heat transfer, molecular dynamics, electromagnetics, and solid stress analysis, as well as result processing and visualization.
