[Notice] Recruitment for participants for the 57th webinar has begun.
A course that directly addresses the unavoidable challenges of earthworks in disaster-prone Japan.
We will analyze why embankments are vulnerable to rain and earthquakes through geotechnical engineering and teach countermeasures for "troublesome soils" such as special soils and soft ground. This practical approach, learning from past damage cases, will provide insights for design and construction that can be applied starting tomorrow.
- "Characteristics of Earthworks and Troublesome Issues Expected in Design and Construction"
(There will be a break of about 10 minutes during the session.)
In our disaster-prone country, earthworks, especially embankments, have caused significant damage due to large-scale ground disasters resulting from earthquakes and heavy rainfall.
This course will explain why earthworks are vulnerable to rain and earthquakes from a geotechnical perspective, as well as discuss countermeasures for special soils and soft ground, which are treated as troublesome soils in design and construction.
