By ventilating the attic, the reduction rate of electricity consumption during air conditioning operation on sunny days was approximately 15% to 23% (*), confirming the energy-saving effect. Additionally, a comparison of temperatures between the attic, indoors, and the human body using a thermotracer showed that with a ventilation system, the temperature of wooden components such as beams in the attic and the ceiling surface was lower, and the temperature difference indoors was reduced with height. *Varies depending on conditions and the air conditioner's capacity and efficiency. In 2020, the "mandatory energy-saving standards for housing" are scheduled to be implemented, and it is expected that Japanese housing will increasingly aim for high airtightness and high insulation.
