Successful identification of the origin of sake! Using biotechnology, we can pinpoint 'when and where it was produced.' A new technology to protect consumers and Japanese manufacturers from counterfeit sake sold overseas.

日本流通管理支援機構 日本流通管理支援機構
On June 10, the Japan Distribution Management Support Organization conducted a "Japanese sake origin certification" using a service that applies technology used in diamond origin certification. As a result, we report that we were able to pinpoint the exact origin of "which sake brewery it was produced in." This certification was conducted voluntarily by our company to demonstrate the technology. This certification uses our "scientific" origin certification service, "Origin Seal," to identify the precise origin of "which sake brewery it was produced in." Japanese sake is said to be more difficult to certify compared to wine because its raw materials are only "water" and "rice." In this context, we conducted an analysis at the molecular level of water and rice to determine whether they matched the original (authentic) product. For this certification, we used a total of 9 bottles from 3 different brands produced in 3 prefectures (Niigata, Gunma, and Kyoto) with different manufacturing dates. Preventing food fraud! Scientific origin certification and case studies.

Improving the reliability of hometown tax! Preventing the misrepresentation of the production areas of export Shine Muscat grapes and cherries! Identifying production areas that cannot be determined by DNA through chemical methods!

Our company provides scientific origin identification that enables proof of "place of origin and manufacturing" which is difficult to achieve through DNA testing as a measure to prevent food fraud. The "Origin Certification" is an innovative technology that analyzes trace metals and isotopes contained in products to identify their origin. Amid a series of food fraud incidents involving high-end fruit exports such as Shine Muscat and cherries, this technology serves as a decisive factor for origin certification. Even if DNA is stolen and production occurs overseas, it can be scientifically proven whether the product was truly grown in Japan. This helps protect brand value and contributes to increased reliability in exports and domestic sales. 【Target Items】 ■ Horticultural products (Shine Muscat, cherries) ■ Fruit wines and seafood ■ Critical minerals and strategic minerals ■ Wagyu beef and eggs For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Agricultural product traceability

Statistics on the causes of corruption! Can be utilized in information insurance and QC.

"Traceability of Agricultural Products" is extremely important for ensuring food safety and for quickly identifying and addressing the causes in the event of a food incident. Information such as which farm the food was grown on, what fertilizers and pesticides were used, and how it was processed and transported can be tracked. Rather than promoting "deliciousness" overseas, it becomes possible to create a system where the more products are produced, the more they promote themselves. 【Issues that can be resolved (excerpt)】 ■ Returns and complaint handling ■ Reduction and negotiation of insurance premiums ■ Improvement of quality control (quality management at the producer level) ■ From small-scale to large-scale shipments ■ Cost reduction for labor through labeling on materials *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Protecting the brand from fake Japanese products! Measures and verification to prevent product origin fraud.

Through a difficult origin identification technique in DNA testing, even if the DNA of seedlings and Wagyu is stolen and cultivated, we scientifically prove whether it was truly raised in Japan.

We would like to introduce our anti-counterfeiting measures and verification service, "Proof of Origin," to prevent origin fraud. Intellectual property built by our predecessors is leaking abroad, resulting in a loss of national interests. By applying diamond origin certification technology, we digitize unique information from fields and sake breweries using scientific methods, enabling verification even from overseas. With origin certification technology that is difficult to achieve through DNA testing, we can scientifically prove whether seeds or Wagyu beef were truly raised in Japan, even if their DNA has been stolen and cultivated elsewhere. 【Features】 ■ Collect and fingerprint unique information such as soil and water from the production area ■ Identify the production region from parts of meat or vegetables ■ Apply diamond origin certification technology *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

What is traceability? Introducing its benefits.

Information about what fertilizers and pesticides were used, as well as how they were processed and transported, can be tracked!

Traceability refers to a system that tracks the path a product or service takes and clarifies the processes by which it is made. For consumers, the benefits include the ability to know where a product comes from and how it was produced, which helps in confirming the safety and quality of the product. Additionally, for distribution stakeholders, the benefits include the ability to clearly identify the causes and responsibilities for issues such as spoilage during transportation, allowing for proper insurance and guarantees, and facilitating smooth transactions. [Benefits for Consumers] - The ability to know where a product comes from and how it was produced. - By providing information about producers, repurchase methods, and overseas agents, it enhances brand value and enables the product to "market itself." *For more details, please feel free to contact us.

[Origin Certification Example] Farmed Barramundi (Fish) Measures to Prevent Origin Fraud

As a measure to prevent origin fraud, companies can communicate any tampering as knowledge and scientific evidence based on verification evidence.

As a measure to prevent origin fraud, we would like to introduce an example of the measures taken by the Barramundi Farming Association to certify the origin of farmed barramundi. A hospitality group was claiming barramundi from a specific Australian brand, but in reality, they were not cooking or selling barramundi from that brand, leading to damage to their reputation due to differences in fish quality. The origin program allows for verification when barramundi sold in markets, retail stores, and hospitality facilities is claimed to come from specific farms. [Summary of Measures] ■ Issues - Imported barramundi misrepresented as Australian barramundi - Damage to reputation due to differences in fish quality ■ Results - Evidence of verification allows for any tampering to be communicated as knowledge and scientific proof *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Certificate of Origin Example] Oysters - Measures to Prevent Origin Fraud

Measures to prevent misrepresentation of origin assert the origins of various oysters! Unique scientific fingerprints are identified for each lease/growing bay.

As a measure to prevent origin fraud, we would like to introduce an example of a joint effort between the Tasmanian government and the Tasmanian Oyster Company to certify the origin of oysters. The objective is to verify the digital tracking platform created by the Tasmanian state government. Oysters are often mixed or substituted throughout the supply chain, and by claiming a specific origin, a premium can be added, resulting in higher selling prices for consumers. The origin program allows for 100% classification of the sample's origin and 100% mutual verification, enabling tracking back to the bay of origin. For individual leases within a single bay, this can be done with 98% accuracy. [Summary of Measures (Partial)] ■Challenges - Mixing/substitution often occurs throughout the supply chain - Claiming a specific origin can lead to a premium and increased selling prices - The emergence of substitutes may result in potential revenue loss due to quality and flavor issues *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Origin Certification Case] Tasmanian Cherry - Measures to Prevent Origin Fraud

Decline in sales and trust! A case providing scientific evidence for counterfeit investigations as a measure to prevent origin fraud.

As a measure to prevent origin fraud, we would like to introduce an example of the origin certification of Tasmanian cherries conducted by Reid Fruits. The company faced the problem of malicious actors attempting to exploit both its brand and the premium prices it commands in the market. Techniques have been used to imitate brand packaging and replace it with lower-quality cherries. In response, cherries labeled as being from the company are analyzed in export markets to verify the claims of origin. The introduction of this technology has provided the ability to scientifically verify the provenance and authenticity of the company's products in overseas markets. [Summary of Measures (Partial)] ■ Challenges - Product substitution, mislabeling, and fraud in export markets - Decrease in sales and trust ■ Results - Tracing and verifying Reid Fruits cherries from origin to production farm within the market *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Certificate of Origin Example] Diamond - Measures to Prevent Origin Fraud

Verification of sustainability certification as a measure to prevent origin fraud! A case study on building reliability and transparency in the supply chain.

As a measure to prevent origin fraud, we would like to introduce an example of measures taken by SCS Global for diamond origin certification. In the verification of SCS-007 sustainability certification for lab-grown diamonds, we verify not only the producers of lab-grown diamonds but also the reaction furnaces where the diamonds were manufactured. It is possible to analyze both natural diamonds and lab-grown diamonds using our technology. We can trace the diamonds from the producers who grew them in the lab to the reaction furnaces where they were manufactured. [Overview of Measures (Partial)] ■ Issue: Verification of SCS-007 sustainability certification for lab-grown diamonds ■ Results - Verification up to the reaction furnaces where the diamonds were manufactured - Building reliability and transparency in the supply chain *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Certificate of Origin Example] Natural Shrimp - Measures to Prevent Origin Fraud

Imported shrimp mistakenly labeled as domestic shrimp! A case of verifying whether it is Australian or imported as a measure to prevent origin fraud.

As a measure to prevent origin fraud, we will introduce an example of a countermeasure implemented by the Australian Council of Prawn Fisheries, which involves the certification of the origin of wild-caught shrimp. There have been cases where domestic shrimp were substituted with imported shrimp and falsely marketed as domestic, leading to sales at high prices to consumers. Additionally, there have been instances where domestic shrimp were mixed or diluted with imported shrimp and sold as domestic. Wild-caught tiger prawns are captured in specific geographical locations (fishing areas authorized by catch quotas) and undergo trace element analysis. By constructing a reference database using trace element data and matching samples, it is possible to verify whether the shrimp is of Australian origin or imported. [Summary of Countermeasure Examples (Partial)] ■ Issues - There have been cases of origin fraud where products were sold to consumers at high prices. - Instances of mixing or diluting imported shrimp and selling them as domestic have occurred. - Due to the inability to determine whether the shrimp is domestic or not, trust and demand for domestic shrimp are undermined. - Impact on the reputation regarding the taste and quality of domestic wild shrimp. - Decrease in income for domestic shrimp fishers (and related parties). *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Origin Certification Case] Protecting the Apple Brand "Bravo"

Maximizing the value of licensed varieties as a measure to prevent origin fraud! A case that can be scientifically proven.

As a measure to prevent origin fraud, we would like to introduce an example of the measures taken by WA Farm Direct to protect the apple brand "Bravo" through origin certification. Since the apples of this brand are high-end products, there is a possibility of counterfeit products appearing in both domestic and international markets, and there was also a risk of unauthorized producers growing them illegally. By conducting origin certification, the value of the licensed variety can be maximized, and by distinguishing between apples from licensed farms and those that are not, the licensing organization can scientifically prove the authenticity. [Summary of Measures (Partial)] ■ Issues - There is a possibility of counterfeit products appearing in domestic and international markets. - There is a risk of unauthorized producers growing them illegally. ■ Results - Maximized value of licensed varieties, with the licensing organization able to provide scientific proof. - Increased consumer trust and brand value globally. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Recommended for earthquake measures for automatic doors and equipment! Seismic device HK-2.

  • NEW
  • PRODUCT

Japan is one of the top 10 countries in the world with frequent earthquakes. The 2020 White Paper on Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has also reported an increase in the probability of major earthquakes occurring. Regarding the Nankai Trough earthquake, the probability of an earthquake with a magnitude of 8 to 9 occurring within the next 30 years is estimated to be 70 to 80%. At Hotron, we recommend the introduction of seismic devices for earthquake countermeasures in buildings and equipment. The seismic device 'HK-2' is a product that automatically performs various controls that have been pre-set when it detects strong shaking equivalent to a seismic intensity of 5 lower or higher. For example, it can automatically execute actions such as: "Open automatic doors and gates to secure evacuation routes and access for emergency vehicles" "Transmit signals to the control room and stop facility equipment" "Unlock the keys to locked lockers" "Automatically play voice guidance" For more details, please download the materials or contact us.

As heatwave risks continue to rise and workplace heatstroke prevention requirements become increasingly important, how can organizations encourage employees to maintain safe behaviors consistently?

  • NEW
  • COMPANY

Kort Valuta has released a workplace initiative model that leverages points exchangeable for electronic money to support the adoption of safety and wellness habits. Examples include: ・Hydration reporting ・Viewing heatstroke prevention content ・Pre-shift condition checks ・Voice-based condition checks By linking these activities to incentive points, organizations can encourage voluntary participation while supporting workplace safety and employee well-being. The model is designed not only for frontline environments such as: ・Logistics ・Construction ・Manufacturing but also for office-based health and well-being programs. Safety posters and reminders alone are often not enough to drive lasting behavioral change. We hope this initiative provides a practical example for organizations seeking new approaches to workplace safety and employee engagement.
