Case study of switch contact failure analysis

アイテス アイテス
Since a malfunction was suspected at the switch section of the appliance that would not power on, we will introduce analysis cases along with the work flow. First, we check for any shape changes such as swelling, cracking, or discoloration through visual observation. In the electrical check, we verify whether the malfunction can be reproduced and whether it is an open or short circuit. Internal observation using X-rays revealed that the contact terminals inside the switch had melted, scattered, and disappeared, resulting in an open circuit failure. Ultimately, we will submit a report that includes the consideration of the cause. We also welcome inquiries regarding analysis consultations after non-destructive testing, so please feel free to contact us.

Analysis case of faulty switch contacts

Appearance inspection, electrical verification, and internal observation using X-rays conducted! Introduction of analysis cases.

Since a malfunction was suspected at the switch part of the appliance that would not power on, we will introduce analysis cases along with the work flow. First, we check for any shape changes such as swelling, cracking, or discoloration through visual observation. In the electrical check, we confirm whether the malfunction can be reproduced and whether it is an open or short circuit. Internal observation using X-rays revealed that the contact terminals inside the switch had melted, scattered, and disappeared, resulting in an open failure. Ultimately, we will submit a report that includes an analysis of the cause. We also welcome inquiries regarding analysis consultations after non-destructive testing, so please feel free to reach out. 【Basics of Non-Destructive Observation】 ■1: Visual Confirmation ■2: Electrical Confirmation ■3: Internal Observation with X-rays *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

X-ray fluoroscopy and CT examination device 'Observation case of IC type coil'

X-ray CT observation allows for the assessment of the winding condition of coil wiring! We will introduce examples of observing IC-type coils, which differ from X-ray transmission observation.

Here are some examples of observations of IC-type coils. Through X-ray observation, we can clearly capture the internal structure by using methods suited to the purpose. In transmission observation, we can quickly detect metal foreign objects, and in CT observation, we can obtain three-dimensional images of any cross-section, making it suitable for observations where positional information and shape are important. Unlike transmission observation, we can also assess the winding condition of the coil wiring. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

X-ray fluoroscopy and CT examination equipment: Case study of BGA solder crack analysis

X-ray fluoroscopic observation, oblique CT observation, orthogonal CT observation, etc.! Introduction of BGA solder crack analysis cases.

We will introduce a case study of BGA solder crack analysis using X-ray imaging and CT scanning. When observing the BGA connection area of a circuit board that had become electrically open using X-ray imaging, cracks were confirmed to have occurred at the BGA connection. Additionally, we examined the cracks in the solder connection observed through X-ray imaging using oblique CT. Oblique CT provides clear planar information, but spherical shapes like solder balls and voids appear elongated in the vertical direction due to specific factors of oblique CT. While it is difficult to obtain cross-sectional information about the cracks occurring at the solder joint interface, there is the advantage of being able to observe the circuit board non-destructively. [Analysis Cases] ■ X-ray imaging observation ■ Oblique CT observation ■ Orthogonal CT observation ■ Cross-sectional observation *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Observation Case] X-ray Observation of a Toggle Switch

Observation of the misalignment of the internal metal plate! This is a case study of a toggle switch observed through X-ray fluoroscopy and orthogonal CT observation.

A defective toggle switch component was found where the operating lever does not switch. As a result of X-ray fluoroscopic observation, it was observed that the internal metal plate was misaligned, revealing the cause of the defect. In this case, the metal plate is supposed to move like a seesaw around the central terminal to switch the circuit, but in the defective product, the metal plate is misaligned, preventing the lever from switching to the opposite side and thus making circuit switching impossible. CT observation provides not only 3D images but also arbitrary slice cross-sectional images in the X, Y, and Z directions. [Observation Case] ■ Subject: Toggle Switch ■ Observation Method: X-ray fluoroscopic observation, orthogonal CT observation ■ Cause of Defect: Misalignment of the internal metal plate *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

We have released the materials for the cloud management tool "Loglass"!

  • NEW
  • PRODUCT

We have released an introduction document for our cloud management system "Loglass." This document clearly presents the features and usage images of "Loglass," which streamlines management tasks such as budget formulation, performance management, forecast updates, and management accounting. Loglass centralizes data scattered across various systems and spreadsheets, reducing the effort required for collection, aggregation, and analysis, thereby supporting quicker and more accurate management decisions. Additionally, it helps address challenges such as the personalization of management tasks and increased workload through automation of data aggregation, history management, and real-time analysis functions. The document also includes actual implementation examples and the effects of implementation, showcasing results such as reduced workload, enhanced analysis capabilities, and improved decision-making speed. Companies considering promoting DX in management or reviewing operations centered around Excel and spreadsheets are encouraged to take a look.

HK-2

Recommended for earthquake measures for automatic doors and equipment! Seismic device HK-2.

  • NEW
  • PRODUCT

Japan is one of the top 10 countries in the world with frequent earthquakes. The 2020 White Paper on Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has also reported an increase in the probability of major earthquakes occurring. Regarding the Nankai Trough earthquake, the probability of an earthquake with a magnitude of 8 to 9 occurring within the next 30 years is estimated to be 70 to 80%. At Hotron, we recommend the introduction of seismic devices for earthquake countermeasures in buildings and equipment. The seismic device 'HK-2' is a product that automatically performs various controls that have been pre-set when it detects strong shaking equivalent to a seismic intensity of 5 lower or higher. For example, it can automatically execute actions such as: "Open automatic doors and gates to secure evacuation routes and access for emergency vehicles" "Transmit signals to the control room and stop facility equipment" "Unlock the keys to locked lockers" "Automatically play voice guidance" For more details, please download the materials or contact us.

Breaking away from a single manufacturer option — Introducing agents to cut the "negative loop" in the back office.

  • NEW
  • OTHER

Caught up in daily data entry, approvals, and inquiries, I want to improve but can't find the time to consider it. Such voices from the field are not uncommon. Even though it's clear that systemization is necessary, the reality is that people often get stuck on where to start and which products to choose. Common frustrations include "I spent time requesting materials and demos, but I'm not sure if it fits my company," and "After implementation, the inquiry contacts are scattered among different manufacturers, making it hard to connect quickly when issues arise." This moves us further away from the original goals of efficiency and reducing dependency on individuals. This is where the option of "agent implementation" comes into focus. Agents that handle products from multiple manufacturers have the advantage of providing unbiased comparisons and neutral proposals without favoring specific products. Even within the same category of systems, they can present the pros and cons side by side for a balanced evaluation. There is also a common misconception regarding pricing; in most cases, there is little to no price difference between direct sales from manufacturers and agents. You can read more without needing to input personal information. Please visit the iBusiness Partners column page! https://ibp-column.sfsite.me/33869
