Hinoki tiles from Nagano Prefecture will be installed at Matsumoto Station in Matsumoto City.

The Nagano Prefecture Timber Sales Development Council member, Lumber Tech (Matsumoto City), will install approximately 16,000 wooden tiles (400 m²) made from Nagano Prefecture thinned timber, such as "hinoki," in the Matsumoto Station Castle Gate Improvement Project Phase 2, which is being developed by Matsumoto City. The construction will take about two weeks starting from December 1 (supervised by Murase Group, Matsumoto City). The tiles will use Blocky (patent pending) from Kiburock (Gifu Prefecture) and feature a fitting structure that prevents any floating or sinking. The wood is pressure-treated with ACQ (K4) in-house, and it is expected to have a durability of over 30 years without painting under ground conditions. Part of the tile production is being carried out at Matsumoto Juvenile Prison, contributing to rehabilitation support. By using thinned timber, this project contributes to forest conservation and helps in the long-term fixation of CO2, making it a product that addresses environmental issues.
