It is particularly effective for measuring flows in complex situations, such as those occurring behind structures, in breaking wave zones, and near the seabed, where measurements are difficult with ADCPs. There is also a deep-sea version of the Vector with a titanium pressure-resistant housing that can withstand depths of 6000 meters.
