ISO 39001 (Road Traffic Safety Management System) is a standard aimed at reducing and ultimately eliminating fatalities and serious injuries from traffic accidents worldwide, establishing fundamental requirements that organizations should address to achieve this goal. It targets all organizations involved in road traffic safety, regardless of industry, company size, or the products and services they provide, including transportation and logistics sectors. The goals are achieved using the following three types of "performance indicators": 1) Risk exposure indicators (transport volume, distance traveled, etc.) 2) Final safety indicators (number of fatalities and serious injuries) 3) Intermediate safety indicators (safety in road and vehicle design and development, user safety, rehabilitation of accident victims, etc.) It is noted that there is a high degree of consistency with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, and commonalities with the "Transportation Safety Management Evaluation System" have also been pointed out.
