By heating the plate glass as uniformly as possible to a temperature near the softening point (600-630°C) and then rapidly cooling it uniformly outside the furnace, tensile stress is generated, which in turn induces compressive stress in the surface, resulting in strengthening. By strengthening, it becomes more resistant to strength and thermal shock.

Borosilicate glass tubes have a high coefficient of expansion and can be processed with general burners, making them commonly used for experiments in school classes. However, Japanese manufacturers have already discontinued production, and currently, they are only available while supplies last. Nevertheless, for the two most commonly used sizes, with outer diameters of 7mm and 8mm (both with a wall thickness of 1mm), imported products have become available for future supply.

Our company has been selling HARIO glassware such as beakers and flasks as an agent for Shibata Scientific for about 40 years. The H-32 is made of low thermal expansion coefficient heat-resistant glass, and it does not contain heavy metals such as lead, zinc, and cadmium, as well as arsenic and antimony, which are commonly used as foam agents, making it a safe choice for chemical analysis. ■ Currently, we are running a campaign for HARIO beakers and flasks.

Tempax is a borosilicate glass from the German company Schott, which has a low thermal expansion coefficient and exhibits excellent heat resistance and thermal shock resistance in various fields. For items with a thickness of 20t or less, we prepare standard products with a flat surface finished by the float process. There are also several types of roll plates with thicknesses ranging from 28.6 to 57.2t, so while polishing is necessary, we can also supply thicker plates over 20t.
