VR (Virtual Reality) has already entered the "implementation" phase after going through the "expectation-driven" phase of emerging technology, and its utilization in the product development process of the manufacturing industry is progressing. Additionally, with the advancement of remote meetings due to the "new normal" and "work style reform," communication tends to become "sparse." Here, too, by utilizing VR and participating in a real-time immersive space from a remote location, we can expect "dense" communication instead. At the ESI LIVE XR Event 2021 held on October 6, 2021, Volvo Group Trucks showcased a case study of reforming the product development process aimed at zero prototypes using the VR solution IC.IDO provided by ESI Group in a collaborative virtual workspace, including demonstrations. It has been a long time since casting simulation appeared on the market, and it has gained high trust in defect prediction such as flow and solidification. However, thermal stress is a very important issue in the consideration of manufacturing processes, yet it is still rare to see simulation tools that actively approach this problem. Cases of dimensional non-conformance due to deformation often cannot be resolved with simple design considerations, and in the worst case, it can lead to significant setbacks such as remaking molds, which is a challenge that troubles designers. Furthermore, the recent trend towards lightweight products due to CO2 emission regulations has led to thinner and less rigid components, making stress-induced deformation even more difficult to control than before. The ProCAST, which will be introduced in this seminar, is a total solution for solving casting problems and has received very high evaluations, especially in stress analysis. This time, based on the numerous experiences gained with ProCAST, we will introduce "the outputs and benefits obtained from stress analysis" and "key points to focus on when mastering stress analysis," through user case studies. The content will also be useful for those who do not currently use ProCAST.

This seminar is an online series (four sessions in total) aimed at individuals who have concerns such as: - I purchased the software, but I don't know how to create a model. - I don't know where to prepare the database. - I tried the calculations, but I don't know how to compare them with experimental results. The seminar will not cover the theory of plasma or simulation, or the overview of software functions. Instead, it will introduce useful internet sites and methods for collecting the necessary databases, interpreting experimental results, and comparing them with calculation results, providing fundamental insights into software operation.
