Noise Cut Transformer NCT-R3-J6

The latest three-phase model that improves noise reduction performance while considering safety and ease of use.

The "Noise Cut Transformer" has improved noise attenuation performance, safety, and ease of use. It is a disturbance wave blocking transformer. Focusing on the fact that various noise disturbances are caused in different environments by high-frequency noise below 150 kHz, which is not covered by major EMC standards such as the IEC 61000-4 series, we have generally enhanced the noise attenuation performance, particularly in the range of several tens to several hundred kHz. Additionally, not only the conductive parts such as terminals and coils but also the core part is enclosed in a case to prevent contact, making it safer to use.

[Case Study] Pharmaceutical Manufacturer C Research Institute

Unexplained stoppage of the centrifuge, what is its true nature? Introducing a case that achieved stable operation of research equipment!

At the C Research Institute, research and development of new drugs is being conducted, and many facilities are operational; however, there were issues occurring. It was speculated that the cause might be the deterioration of the power supply environment due to voltage fluctuations, but this remained merely a hypothesis, and we were in trouble. Since there are various factors that can deteriorate the power supply environment, we first proposed the introduction of cost-effective high-frequency noise countermeasure products and provided a trial unit. When we installed a "Noise Cut Transformer" on the centrifuge to check if the situation would change, the issues that had occurred daily completely ceased from the very first day of installation. Subsequently, we introduced the solution to other devices that had experienced issues, and those devices also stopped having problems, achieving stable operation of the research equipment. [Case Summary] ■ Problem: Unable to identify the cause of the issues ■ Proposal: Cost-effective high-frequency noise countermeasure products ■ Introduced Product: Noise Cut Transformer ■ Result: Troubles resolved with high-frequency noise countermeasures ■ Conclusion: It is important to implement measures suitable for the factors causing disturbances that deteriorate the power supply environment. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Automatic Welding Machine Manufacturer D Company

Why isn't it resolved even though we are using countermeasure products? Here are examples of noise countermeasures for automatic welding machines!

Company D, headquartered in Tokyo, had been addressing high-frequency noise generated within their factory by installing noise filters on the power lines of their equipment and attaching ferrite cores to the power cables. However, the issues were resolved in only one or two locations, while many areas remained problematic. In an environment where various frequencies of noise coexist, it is believed that solutions targeting only specific frequencies may not yield sufficient results. Therefore, we proposed the introduction of a "Noise Cut Transformer," which can reliably eliminate a wide range of frequencies. As a result, the issues were successfully resolved, and the automatic welding machine began to operate without any problems. [Case Summary] ■ Problem: Troubles persist despite using countermeasure products for noise control. ■ Introduced Product: Noise Cut Transformer ■ Effect: Issues were successfully resolved, and the automatic welding machine operates without problems. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

The basic concept of noise countermeasures using a "noise cut transformer."

We will introduce the basic features of the noise barrier transformer and key points for noise countermeasures!

The disturbances caused by high-frequency noise propagating through power lines can sometimes lead to serious consequences. For example, in production equipment that generates high-value-added products like semiconductors, a single abnormal stoppage can result in losses of tens of millions of yen. Additionally, malfunctions in equipment handling large forces and energies, such as in railways, aviation, automobiles, and robotics, can lead not only to financial losses but also to personal accidents. Noise countermeasures for power lines are essential to prevent such situations from occurring. In this blog, we will introduce the noise-cutting transformer "Noise Cut Transformer," developed to prevent such noise disturbances, along with its usage and points to consider. Please take a look. *You can view the detailed content of the blog through the related links. For more information, feel free to contact us.*

Extremely wideband among noise suppression elements! Lightning surge voltage can also be significantly attenuated!

This booklet introduces the wideband attenuation characteristics of the "Noise Cut Transformer," which can attenuate not only noise but also "lightning surges." The attenuation range for line noise that can be prevented covers normal mode (between lines) from 10kHz to 1GHz, and common mode from DC to 1GHz. In comparison, the attenuation range of typical LC filters for power supplies is from 100kHz to 30MHz, making the bandwidth of attenuation extremely wide among noise prevention devices. [Noise Countermeasure Case] Centrifuge Stops for Unknown Reasons! What is the Cause!

The operation of multiple analysis devices is unstable and not functioning properly! Introduction of noise countermeasure examples.

At the C Research Institute, research and development of new drugs is being conducted, and many facilities are in operation. In these facilities, issues such as "we want to operate the centrifuge continuously for 8 hours, but the equipment stops at night" have occurred. We requested each equipment manufacturer to investigate the cause of the malfunctions and prevent their recurrence. However, since the manufacturers could not identify the cause of the malfunctions, they ended up providing temporary fixes. Additionally, repairs for equipment under warranty are all free of charge, but once the warranty period expires, repairs become chargeable, and those costs cannot be ignored. The facility manager began an investigation to improve this situation. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Noise Countermeasure Example] The analog signal from the weighing controller is unstable.

In a servo-based weighing system, the analog signal from the weighing controller fluctuates.

At Company B's factory, which manufactures plastic products, there is an automatic weighing machine for resin raw material pellets that are transported by a conveyor belt. This system inputs the analog signal output from a device that detects the gate's opening degree via a potentiometer into a PLC for control, and sends signals to a servo driver for control. While operating this system, a problem occurred where the gate opened and closed in small increments, making accurate weighing impossible. If this continues, it will significantly impact product production... This case was related to "high-frequency noise propagating through the air." *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.*

[Case Study] An alarm for leakage current is triggered when the overseas compressor operates.

I want you to clarify the cause of the alarm sounding! Here is an introduction to noise countermeasure examples!

Since you have already confirmed that there are no abnormalities in the insulation of the equipment, we considered another possibility. Generally, high-frequency noise is generated from the compressor. Typically, some noise reduction product is installed on the compressor to prevent the high-frequency noise generated from affecting surrounding equipment. In principle, that noise reduction product should be able to sufficiently prevent the outflow of high-frequency noise. However, when several adverse conditions overlap, that noise reduction product can sometimes become a cause of dispersing high-frequency noise. Upon checking with the customer, it was confirmed that a noise reduction product is also installed on the compressor of the equipment, so we focused our investigation on the surrounding area. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Noise Countermeasure Case] System Abnormal Shutdown in Plasma Arc Welding

Pilot arc affects the PLC! The cause of the system's abnormal shutdown might be noise?

Company C, a parts processing manufacturer, automated the plasma arc welding process to reduce labor. The system configuration involves moving the workpiece using a servo motor and performing the welding operation once it reaches the designated position. In the automation process, position detection sensors and proximity sensors were installed, and safety measures were implemented simultaneously. Since there are multiple parts to be welded, the control system was pre-programmed, allowing for changes in control patterns for each target during operation. However, the system occasionally froze, and due to a malfunction that caused the pre-set programs to be rewritten, abnormal system shutdowns occurred. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Countermeasure Example] When the painting robot operates, the leakage breaker trips.

A leak has occurred! No wiring defects or insulation failures were found; where could the cause be?

Company A, which develops and manufactures painting robots, has received a commitment from a customer to initially adopt one set of the new robot on a trial basis. If all goes well, there is a possibility of introducing five sets in the future, making this a significant project. The equipment was delivered, and the adjustment work was progressing smoothly. It seemed that we would soon be able to hand it over to the customer. However, suddenly the customer reported, "The existing painting robot's ground fault circuit interrupter is tripping irregularly. It seems that a ground fault occurs at the timing when the new robot starts or stops. We cannot proceed with the acceptance inspection under these circumstances!" *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Noise Countermeasure Example] Centrifuge

Centrifuge stops for unknown reasons!? Introducing examples of equipment malfunctions and noise countermeasures!

We would like to introduce a case of equipment malfunction that occurred at Research Institute C of a certain pharmaceutical manufacturer. "We want to operate the centrifuge continuously for 8 hours, but the machine stops at night." "Even though it's a newly installed analytical device, for some reason, there is damage to the internal circuit board." We requested each equipment manufacturer to investigate the causes of these malfunctions and prevent recurrence, but since the cause could not be identified, we were asked to provide the best solution. We considered the possibility that high-frequency noise was the cause of the malfunctions and proposed the introduction of high-frequency noise countermeasure products that could be implemented at a lower cost than a stabilized power supply. We provided a trial unit of the product. [Overview] ■ Client: Research Institute C of a certain pharmaceutical manufacturer ■ Request details - Please investigate why the equipment is malfunctioning. - Is the introduction of a stabilized power supply the best choice? Please provide your opinion. ■ Results - Proposed the introduction of high-frequency noise countermeasure products that could be implemented at a lower cost than a stabilized power supply and provided a trial unit. - The high-frequency noise countermeasures resolved the issues, achieving stable operation of the research equipment.
