[Mirror Implementation Case] Safety Measures in Various Areas of the Hospital!

An example of how installing a mirror made it possible to see around the corner of the hallway (Ariake Hospital, Cancer Research Foundation).

We would like to introduce a case where Komi Corporation's products, "Lami Dome," "Super Oval," and "Lami," were implemented at the Ariake Hospital of the Foundation for Cancer Research. The nursing department requested measures to prevent collisions, and while considering possible solutions, the hospital director introduced Komi's mirrors. Having previously purchased mirrors, we were able to borrow one this time to confirm its effectiveness on-site. Initially, we considered FF mirrors, but due to the limited installation locations, we decided on convex mirrors that provide clear reflections and are easy to check from any angle. We purchased 9 units of Lami Dome (LT5), 9 units of Lami (L7), and 22 units of Super Oval (SF68). The situations vary, including wagons, beds, stretchers, and accompanying patients, but now, thanks to the mirrors, we can see what is around the corner in the hallway, eliminating the risk of collisions. [Case Summary] ■ Products Used: Lami Dome, Super Oval, Lami ■ Effect: Collision Prevention *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Mirror Introduction Case] For monitoring and safety measures for preschool children!

An example of being able to confirm preschoolers in blind spots with a mirror (Pinocchio Nursery Roka Nursery School).

We would like to introduce a case where Komi Corporation's products, "Rami," "FF Stand Mirror," and "Fork Exit Mirror," as well as the "FF Mirror Corridor," were implemented at Pinocchio Nursery School Roka. There have been instances where children have run out into the road, and various measures have been taken, but since the installation of the mirrors, it has become possible to quickly and safely check for any dangers. The mirrors installed outdoors have led to the introduction of indoor mirrors as well, which can be used for addressing blind spots within the facility. Previously, there were concerns about not being able to see the children in blind spots, but after the installation of the mirrors, it has become possible to monitor children in those areas from a distance, providing peace of mind.

[Mirror Implementation Case] Improving Factory Work Efficiency with Mirrors!

A case where it became possible to check if a capper needs to be replenished while sitting and performing inspection work! (Yamashin Brewing Co.)

Here is an introduction to a case where the "Super Oval" handled by Komi Corporation was introduced to Yamashin Brewery. A new mirror was installed in the factory's filling area. I was first surprised that the inside of the capper could be seen from any position. "When I adjust the angle, I might be able to check while sitting during the bottle inspection," I thought, and when I made the adjustment, it was just as I expected—it was easy to see. Now, without having to move, I can easily and accurately check whether a cap refill is needed. This became a good example of how selecting suitable tools and equipment can yield significant benefits. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Mirror Introduction Case] Ensuring safe passage for forklifts!

We would like to introduce a case where blind spots have been eliminated, allowing forklifts to pass through safely! (Totez Maintenance)

We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of "Rami," handled by Komi Corporation, at Tōtetsu Maintenance. There were blind spots in the warehouse where forklifts could potentially collide, so we decided to install mirrors. Since there was no need to see the upper area, we chose our product that provides a 180° view of the lower area. When there were no mirrors, we had to proceed slowly and visually check the blind spots. Now, by looking at the mirrors, we can predict that "there are no forks in the direction of travel, and none are approaching," allowing for safe passage. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Mirror Implementation Case] Reducing blind spots on forklift travel paths to ensure safety!

The key factor is Komi's track record and the free rental system! Reducing blind spots on forklift travel paths to ensure safety! (Paramount Bed)

We would like to introduce a case where our "Forklift Exit Mirror" was implemented at Paramount Bed. When the new line was put into operation, we considered accident prevention measures to reduce blind spots in the forklift travel routes and ensure safety. As a result, it was deemed effective, and the mirrors were installed in various locations within the facility. Additionally, the product and "FF Mirrors" have been installed in other factories as well. The decision to implement was influenced by seeing various companies using the product on Komi's website and the availability of free sample loans. Due to the diverse installation points, we have creatively made our own mounting brackets to ensure the mirrors are positioned for optimal visibility. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Mirror Introduction Case] Reducing stress during cargo transportation!

Stress during cargo transportation significantly reduced! A case where blind spot situations became understandable (Tama Medical PFI).

We would like to introduce a case where the mirror "Rami," handled by Komi Corporation, was implemented at Tama Medical PFI. In the hospital corridors, large carts carrying heavy loads often pass through, so those transporting items have developed the habit of carefully pushing their carts while being mindful not to collide, moving "slowly and carefully." Since installing this product, they can proceed with an understanding of the situation around the corners, providing a sense of security. "We cannot say that the speed of transportation has increased just because we have added mirrors, but the stress during transportation has significantly decreased, and we have received positive feedback from the staff," was the feedback we received. [Case Overview] ■ Product Used: Rami ■ Effects - Ability to proceed with an understanding of the situation around corners - Significant reduction in stress when transporting items *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Mirror Introduction Case] Smooth Walking Training in the Rehabilitation Floor!

A big difference between "having" and "not having"! A case where walking training in the rehabilitation floor was achieved without disrupting the pace (Azusawa Hospital).

We would like to introduce a case study of the mirror "Rami" handled by Komi Corporation, which has been implemented at Azukizawa Hospital. In the rehabilitation department located on the 4th floor of the hospital, the hallway is used as a walking training circuit. Patients undergoing training have previously walked cautiously around corners, fearing collisions. As a result, their walking pace slowed down, making accurate measurements difficult, and it sometimes did not contribute to effective rehabilitation. Since the installation of this product, patients can check for safety without stopping, allowing them to walk without disrupting their pace. It is also used for checking both sides when exiting the restroom and for confirming when bringing a stretcher out of the bathroom. [Case Overview] ■ Product Used: Rami ■ Effect: Safety checks can be performed without stopping *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Mirror Introduction Case] For the safety of patients undergoing directional training!

Installed in a place easily visible to patients undergoing walking training! A case where the level of safety and security of the course has increased.

We would like to introduce a case where the mirror "Lami/Lami Dome" handled by Komi Corporation was introduced to T Hospital. In the rehabilitation floor of the hospital, the corridors serve as training courses for walking and other activities. Since there are areas where the paths of medical staff overlap, measures using mirrors were implemented to prevent collisions with patients. To ensure that patients can also utilize the mirrors, we chose large and easily visible ones and installed them in positions where they are easily seen by people walking. By not only having staff pay attention but also involving patients in cooperation, the level of safety and security was further enhanced. [Case Overview] ■ Product Used: Lami/Lami Dome ■ Effect: Increased level of safety and security in the course *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

A design that blends into the environment! We received feedback saying, "It helps prevent collisions!" (Inaho Nursing Care Health Facility)

We would like to introduce a case where the mirrors we handle were installed at the Inaho Nursing Care Health Facility. At this facility, mirrors were installed in corridors that create blind spots for the safety of the elderly residents. They are very convenient and reassuring for staff when they are in a hurry due to emergency calls. "We couldn't install traditional mirrors because it felt like we were monitoring the residents. However, 'Rami' blends seamlessly into our facility's interior and is completely unobtrusive," was the feedback we received. [Case Study] ■ Product Used: Rami ■ Customer Feedback: Blends into our facility's interior and is completely unobtrusive. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Mirror Introduction Case] A design that does not give visitors the impression of being monitored!

The staff said, "The design is good, so it doesn't give visitors the impression of being monitored," and it received positive feedback! (Bonséjour Kawaguchi)

We would like to introduce a case where the mirrors we handle were implemented at Bonsejour Kawaguchi. The entrance to the elevator on the first floor of the facility is a place where many users intersect. Although there have been no accidents so far, it was a place of concern, as we didn't want anything to happen. After installing the mirrors, the staff gave very positive feedback, saying they could work with peace of mind. Additionally, visitors often feel resistance to the idea of being monitored by surveillance cameras, but this mirror was praised for its good design, which does not convey the image of "surveillance." [Case Study] ■ Product Used: Lami ■ Customer Feedback: After installation, the staff expressed that they could work with peace of mind and gave very positive feedback. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Mirror Introduction Case] For monitoring and safety measures for residents!

Even if you are not by the resident's side, 'monitoring' is possible! It alleviates concerns about places that are always worrisome, such as the entrance and hallway (Azheim Ichikawa).

Here is a case study of the mirrors we handle being introduced to Azuhai City River. At this facility, until now, when individuals who needed assistance were resting on the sofa, staff had to stay right there with them. They were always concerned about areas like the entrance door and the deep corridors of the rooms, often going out of their way to check on them. Therefore, we introduced the convex mirrors 'Super Oval' and 'Lami'. "We are now able to provide attentive 'watching over' with more ease thanks to the mirrors," was the feedback we received. [Case Study] ■ Products Used: Super Oval, Lami ■ Customer Feedback - While handling other tasks, I can check with the mirrors and head to provide support when I notice any movement. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

By installing the mirror, staff can now see the hallway from the staff station, allowing them to monitor the users. [Case Study] ■ Product Used: Super Oval ■ Customer Feedback - Staff can now see the hallway from the staff station and monitor the users. - The mirror provides reassurance by allowing staff to understand the users' walking conditions. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Mirror Implementation Case] Preventing Collisions in Poorly Lit Hallways!

Introducing customer feedback! Implementation of mirrors in a care and welfare facility with poor visibility corridors (Asunaro Gakuen, Kitamoto City).

We would like to introduce a case where the mirrors we handle were implemented at Asunaro Gakuen in Kitamoto City. There are individuals in the facility who have walking difficulties and use canes. One person had previously fallen after being bumped from behind while walking in the corridor, and another had a head-on collision with someone who suddenly turned a corner, resulting in a fall. In response to this person's request, we installed a mirror in the poorly visible corridor. After the installation, we received feedback saying, "I used to be scared to walk here, but now that there is a mirror, I feel safe." [Case Study] ■ Product Used: Half Dome Mirror ■ Customer Feedback - When walking with individuals with disabilities, we check the mirror, and if there are people, we sometimes ask them to stop to avoid suddenly running out and colliding. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Mirror Introduction Case] Understand the behavior of facility residents with mirrors!

For crime prevention and accident prevention! A case where the behavior of residents can be monitored, and staff can coordinate with each other (Special Nursing Home Kusunoki).

We would like to introduce a case where the mirrors we handle were implemented at the special nursing home Kusunoki. In this facility, mirrors are used as a safety measure for the residents. For example, when a resident experiences a sudden change in condition, such as a fall or dizziness, staff can quickly respond if they are monitoring with the mirrors. Additionally, it allows staff to confirm that residents who need assistance or have a desire to go home do not exit alone when the elevator doors open. "We find it helpful for monitoring the wandering behavior of residents with insomnia at night. During times when staff numbers are limited, I believe we couldn't manage without the mirrors," was the feedback we received. [Case Study] ■ Products Used: Super Oval, Lami ■ Customer Feedback - The mirrors are helpful for crime prevention and accident prevention. - Staff can now understand residents' behavior and improve coordination among themselves. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Mirror Implementation Case] The response to patients has become smoother.

Installed at the general reception and in front of the radiology and endoscopy reception! A case where the response to patients has become smoother (Saiseikai Kawaguchi General Hospital).

We would like to introduce a case where Komi Corporation implemented the "Super Oval" at Saitama Seikei Hospital. At the hospital, mirrors were installed at both the general reception and in front of the radiology and endoscopy reception areas. Before the installation of the mirrors at the general reception, it was difficult to see the patients who had completed their health check-ups coming to the reception, which sometimes delayed the response. However, after the installation, areas that were not visible from the reception became visible through the mirrors, which has been very helpful. At the radiology and endoscopy reception, the congestion status of the endoscopy and radiology areas was not visible from the reception, and staff sometimes had to leave the reception to check. After the installation, they were able to confirm the congestion status without leaving the reception, allowing for smoother guidance. [Case Summary] ■ Product Used: Super Oval ■ Effect: Improved response to patients *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Improving Work Efficiency: Case Study on Mirror Implementation - Examples of Mirror Use During Customer Service in Stores

Even when I'm serving customers in the booth, I can tell who has come into the store by looking in the mirror, which is very helpful. (Hearing Store Omiya)

We introduced the Super Oval as a measure to address blind spots in the store and to improve work efficiency. Here are the comments from Hearing Store Omiya. Hearing Store is a specialty shop for small hearing aids. We often serve customers in booths for hearing tests and ear impressions, and when we are inside the booth, it can be difficult to notice customers who come to the counter. By installing a mirror that reflects a wide area in a position visible from the booth, we are able to check the reception area while assisting customers, which has been very helpful.

Safety measures: Examples of mirror use for collision prevention in accommodation facilities.

It is very helpful for safety measures in the narrow corridors made cramped by guests' luggage. (Hotel Gracery Shinjuku)

We would like to introduce the feedback from Hotel Gracery Shinjuku, which has implemented FF mirror corridors and Lami as safety measures in the hallways of their accommodation facilities. During the Safety and Health Committee meeting, a concern was raised that "guests' luggage is often in the hallway, making it narrow and likely to cause collisions." Initially, we had installed the 'FF Mirror Corridor Left and Right (FT22),' but there was a request to increase the size of the mirrors, so we changed to the 'FF Mirror Corridor Left and Right (FT46).' Additionally, due to the high volume of luggage in the hallways and the frequent foot traffic from employees and vendors, we also introduced 'Lami (L5)' as a safety measure this time. As a result of installing the mirrors, it seems that almost all staff members now check the mirrors to confirm that no one is coming from the sides, and the likelihood of collisions has significantly decreased.

We would like to introduce a case where the mirrors we handle were implemented at Kinokuniya Bookstore, Shinjuku South Store. Since the opening of our store, we have been using television cameras for theft prevention. However, as losses due to shoplifting increased, both security experts and employees requested the installation of mirrors, which we then installed on all floors. After installing our mirrors, we received feedback saying, "The dome mirror mounted on the ceiling feels completely natural, and we are satisfied! With the 360° multi-vision, it reflects brightly and clearly, and we expect a deterrent effect." We would like to introduce a case where the mirrors we handle were implemented at NewDays Yokohama South Exit Store. Since the mirrors were installed, it has become possible to see from the register whether there are any out-of-stock items or if the products on the opposite shelf are messy. [Mirror Introduction Case] Preventing collisions and improving work efficiency in hospitals!

Detecting patient movements even while working at the nurse station! A case where 99 of our mirrors were installed (Ashikaga Red Cross Hospital).

We would like to introduce a case where the mirrors "Lami/Lami Dome/Lami Corner" handled by Komi Corporation were implemented at Ashikaga Red Cross Hospital. The initiative was inspired by a reflection from an elementary school student who participated in experiential learning during the time of the old Ashikaga Red Cross Hospital, stating, "It would be better to install mirrors in dangerous places like intersections." We promptly put this into practice. In this new hospital, we have continued this idea, installing mirrors not only in areas where employee traffic concentrates at certain times, but also in the inpatient ward corridors where meal delivery carts pass through. As a result, staff have reported feeling reassured, saying, "Even while working at the nurse station, we can detect patient movements." The design of the mirrors has received very positive feedback from staff and almost everyone who has visited so far, stating, "The design of the mirrors is good."
