In order-based design manufacturing, multiple systems such as CAD, PDM, ERP, drawing search, and workflow are implemented. However, design information such as drawings, parts, BOM, specifications, and change history can become dispersed, making it difficult to utilize across departments. This seminar will explain the approach of gradually expanding from PDM to BOM, design change management, and PLM while leveraging the design information assets accumulated in PDM. Furthermore, we will introduce why a "connected design information infrastructure" is necessary for AI agents to utilize drawings, BOM, technical documents, and change history across the board, along with specific usage examples. We will also share methods to advance towards PoC and phased implementation while taking advantage of the existing environment, without assuming a large-scale system overhaul.
