We carried out ground improvement for a sediment control dam in public civil engineering using the Super Rappu Elniido method. Excavation and improvement were performed down to the bedrock of the supporting layer, and sloped cross-section shaping was also conducted. In mountainous sites, construction conditions are limited, such as the selection of construction machinery and materials. However, the Super Rappu Elniido method can be implemented with basically a general-purpose backhoe and a small amount of materials, making it possible to work in narrow areas. We also introduce various case studies on pages from other prefectures.

There are cases where layers composed of gravel are improved. The Super Rappu El Nido method uses a general-purpose backhoe for construction, allowing excavation even in solid ground that is difficult to dig, such as gravel layers mixed with cobbles. Additionally, in the case of gravel layers where the excavation hole cannot stand on its own, there is a concern about the collapse of the excavation hole. However, by changing the excavation method, the risk of collapse can be reduced. We also introduce various examples on pages from other prefectures.

In construction sites in urban areas, there are cases where construction is carried out for buildings such as apartments and hotels with a shallow foundation, and where the bottom of the foundation is deep. In such situations, support and deformation prevention beams are placed for temporary support after the initial excavation. The Super Rappu Elniido method can be executed using a general-purpose backhoe, allowing for construction even when support beams are present by adjusting the placement and height of the beams. Various examples are also introduced on pages from other prefectures.

In cases where the groundwater level in the ground is high, the excavation hole may soon be filled with groundwater after the excavation begins. The Super Rappu Elneed method changes the excavation technique according to the groundwater inflow situation, thereby preventing excessive water inflow and reducing the risk of collapse of the excavation hole. Additionally, the water management method of the Elneed method involves measuring flow values using the cylinder method to manage the water volume. This management method allows for appropriate responses to changes in the moisture content of the soil used for improvement and the inflow of groundwater. We also introduce various case studies on pages from other prefectures.
