We handle Awa Washi leather, which combines Tokushima's traditional washi paper. Awa Washi, with its long history, is known for its water resistance and durability, and its beautiful, unique texture has been loved by many and passed down to the present day as a traditional craft of Tokushima. This product is a collaboration of tradition between Awa Washi and pure domestic pig leather. We handle indigo-dyed leather made from Tokushima Prefecture's sukumo. The indigo plant contains a substance called "indican," which, when the plant's cells are destroyed, is reduced by the action of enzymes contained in the leaves, turning into oxidized indigo pigment that produces the indigo color.
