We considered the introduction of a new core system with the objectives of "establishing business controls," "eliminating reliance on specific individuals," and "maintaining the speed of store expansion." "AP-Vision" encompasses comprehensive management of our main business in retail sales and our secondary business in wholesale sales, as well as functions for logistics operations within our own warehouse, leading to its adoption. In logistics operations, we built a system that facilitates easy decision-making for inventory transfers from the storage warehouse and provides instructions for product assortments considering product characteristics. Until now, differences in sales among stores were due to varying levels of store managers, and to correct these disparities, the challenge was to improve order accuracy through the establishment of an automated ordering system utilizing IT, which would also increase sales. Therefore, we built a core system that includes features such as automated ordering, automatic store allocation, new store ordering, and automated emails, which integrates with existing POS systems, product image information, and Web-EDI systems to comprehensively manage sales and inventory information. Due to the diverse arrangements with suppliers, the variety of products, and the complexity of inventory management, discrepancies in product information frequently occurred. Since strengthening relationships with suppliers was also a challenge, we utilized WEB EDI to automatically link order information, receipt information, payment notifications, and more. As a result, we achieved a reduction in the operational burden and discrepancies related to supplier operations, enabling immediate information sharing with suppliers and strengthening trust. Additionally, by managing purchased and consigned goods by store and SKU, we improved the accuracy of inventory management for each while also leading to reductions in inventory levels and discrepancies. The system before implementation was difficult to use due to limitations in system expansion, resulting in weak inter-system collaboration and data inconsistencies. Until now, the headquarters had been storing, setting up, and deploying store terminals, which placed a burden on the IT department and made collaboration with the stores difficult. To achieve more efficient store management and reduce the workload at headquarters, we decided to transition to tablets during the core system migration and distribute them to each store. After the transition to tablets, operations became easier with touch panel controls, and sharing became smoother, allowing stores to send images of competitor stores to headquarters and headquarters to send images of new products to the stores.
