Lithium-ion batteries have become an indispensable part of our lives. However, while they have made it possible to store large amounts of electrical energy in terms of weight and volume, it is also true that they come with risks such as fire and explosion. Batteries have become smaller and more convenient, but the current lithium-ion batteries also have dangerous aspects. Moreover, if electric vehicles (EVs) continue to spread rapidly at this pace, it is said that lithium materials could be depleted in less than ten years. Securing new materials to replace lithium and developing new energy storage systems are urgent tasks. We are working on improving lithium-ion batteries to pursue their safety, while also engaging in daily research and development of entirely different batteries and energy supply systems.
