This time, in the "Technical Report No. 9: Design and Construction Manual for Excavated Soil Containing Naturally Derived Heavy Metals Using Artificial Materials - Supplementary Reference Material," supervised by the Hokkaido Environmental Conservation Technology Association, information on currently commercialized adsorption mats and sheets has been organized and included as supplementary reference material for Technical Report No. 9, featuring our heavy metal adsorption JiT mat. [Overview] Technical Report No. 9 (Supplement) consolidates information on adsorption mats and sheets developed to improve the workability and versatility of adsorption layer methods, summarizing the materials used and design techniques for each product in accordance with the design philosophy of adsorption layer methods. If you would like more details, please feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThe test results and other information regarding the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's new technology utilization "Theme Setting Type (Technology Recruitment)" were published in March 2021, and the heavy metal adsorption JiT mat was selected as a "decontamination technology." The construction method using the heavy metal adsorption JiT mat was evaluated for its simplicity in laying down ready-made mats without heavy machinery, making it a useful measure against heavy metals leaching from construction-generated soil, leading to shortened construction periods, cost reductions, improved embankment stability, and stabilized quality. Since its development in 2015, the JiT mat has been used nationwide, from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu in the south, in public works such as tunnel construction and dredging, as well as in various environmental conservation efforts by private companies, preventing the spread of contamination by adsorbing heavy metals from leachate and other sources. We will continue to provide technologies and materials that can be useful in various fields.

Free membership registrationIn March 2021, we received notification from the Independent Administrative Institution Railway Construction and Transport Facility Maintenance Support Organization regarding the results of the public recruitment for "Construction Methods (Materials) to Reduce Shinkansen Railway Construction Costs." The JiT mat was evaluated positively in all selection criteria of novelty, versatility, and effectiveness. - It has a proven track record in other projects and is considered a novel technology applicable to the acceptance sites for excavated soil in Shinkansen construction. - It is believed to have a certain level of versatility in tunnel construction for the Shinkansen. - It is expected to be effectively utilized not only at the acceptance sites for excavated soil but also in temporary storage areas within yards during emergencies. - Compared to water-proofing containment methods and other adsorption mat methods, it is expected to have cost advantages. The JiT mat is a convenient mat that adsorbs heavy metals from leachate and prevents the spread of contamination. Since its development in 2015, it has been used across the country, from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu in the south, in public works such as tunnel construction and dredging, as well as various environmental conservation efforts by private companies. We will continue to provide technologies and materials that can be of assistance in various fields, starting with Shinkansen construction projects.
