We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of pig cleaning/pig systems at our company. In the case of introducing pig cleaning to a 150A wastewater transfer piping, there were challenges such as difficulty in segmented cleaning due to long-distance piping and extended time for wastewater treatment due to reduced flow rate. However, the flow rate recovered from 56m³/h to 72m³/h due to a decrease in pressure loss. In the case of introducing a pig system to the lubricant acceptance piping, there were challenges due to the high viscosity of the oil, making recovery through nitrogen blowing difficult. Nevertheless, we were able to recover 95% of the piping volume in a short time during a single residual oil recovery operation.
