Our company is engaged in the manufacturing of machine-made washi paper. We can produce paper ranging from 20 grams to about 130 grams. We use various raw materials according to different applications, from 100% pulp paper to those made with rayon and synthetic fibers. Recently, we have also been actively working with recycled materials. One of these initiatives is our involvement in the Origami Crane Recycling Project. Every year, 10 million origami cranes, weighing a total of 10 tons, are sent to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The reality is that these cranes are often disposed of by incineration, burning the feelings of the people behind them without any outlet. The "Origami Crane Recycling Project" aims to improve this situation, even if just a little. In 2011, an initiative by the city of Hiroshima began to elevate the thoughts of peace embedded in the origami cranes. The cranes that had been stored in warehouses were able to be recycled and given new life. By recycling origami cranes into washi paper, our company breathes new life into them, spreading peace from Hiroshima throughout Japan and the world, and ensuring it is passed on to future generations.
