Recently, natural disasters such as typhoons, heavy rain, and earthquakes have been occurring frequently across Japan. Disasters are no longer someone else's problem. As disaster awareness increases, "evacuation centers" are becoming more familiar to us. Therefore, we conducted a "Survey on Evacuation Centers during Disasters." The most common issue experienced while staying at an evacuation center, with 59.4% of respondents, was related to toilets, and the top request for improvements at evacuation centers was also for toilets. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document. Feel free to contact us for further information.

Free membership registrationIn the citizen awareness survey, many responses indicated that "the most difficult issue after the disaster was the lack of water for daily use." From the head of a local community in the disaster-stricken area, we received the following feedback: "For toilet water, there was a well at the site of a nearby rubber factory, so we used a bucket tied with a rope to draw water, placed it in a plastic container, and transported it with a cart. Eventually, water supply trucks started to arrive, and relief supplies, including bottled water, began to come in, which provided some relief, but there was still a shortage of water for toilets and laundry." *For more detailed information, please refer to the PDF document. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.*

Free membership registrationMany municipalities and companies have stockpiled food and water, but it seems that preparations for sleep and toilets are still lacking. The issue of toilets was the second most common concern, with 62% of people reporting difficulties in the early stages of evacuation life. Additionally, a community leader from a disaster-stricken area mentioned that although they evacuated to a community center, they struggled because the space was too small to accommodate a large number of people. They faced toilet issues as well, as the toilets were flush toilets and became unusable due to water outages, leading them to dig holes outdoors for defecation. [Concerns in the early stages of evacuation life] ■ Sleep environment ■ Toilet ■ Meals ■ Privacy ■ Drinks *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWhen large-scale disasters such as earthquakes occur, lifelines are cut off, and the use of flush toilets becomes impossible. "Arsona α" is a toilet facility (toilet bowl) designed to protect lives and maintain the health of disaster victims in a safe and hygienic manner. This product can be used as a regular flush toilet during normal times, and in the event of a disaster, it can be easily converted into a "disaster toilet" by simply removing a special fitting called the "TF cap" from the bottom of the toilet bowl. It also effectively addresses hygiene issues that arise during disasters! Particularly, odor control (simple flush type) allows for comfortable indoor use. *Our company will be exhibiting at the special exhibition "Disaster Preparedness Toilet Exhibition" during SDGs Week EXPO, which will be held from December 8 (Wednesday) to December 10 (Friday), 2021. We sincerely look forward to your visit. [Content Highlights (Excerpt)] ■ What is the disaster response toilet "Arsona α"? ■ Proposals for disaster-proofing toilets in schools and parks ■ Main installation distribution of "Arsona α" ■ Installation examples - Park toilet installation examples - School facility installation examples - Installation examples in residential management offices, etc. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registration◆Features of "Arsona α" It is normally used as a flush toilet, and in the event of a disaster when the infrastructure (water supply and sewage) is damaged and the flush toilet cannot be used, it can be easily and instantly switched to a pit toilet, making it a disaster toilet that can be used immediately after the occurrence of the disaster. Once the infrastructure is restored, it can be used as a regular flush toilet without waiting for the pit to be emptied. Additionally, since the regular toilet can be used as is, safety, security, and privacy are maintained during disasters. ■Two types of lower structures 1. Underground pit storage type (pit emptying method) * After returning to the original flush toilet, emptying will be done at a time that does not hinder recovery. 2. Direct connection to sewage system (method that directly flows into the sewage system, no emptying required) * This method temporarily collects waste in an underground pit and then flushes it into the sewage system using a certain amount of water. If the restoration of infrastructure takes a long time and direct flow into the sewage system is not possible, continuous use is possible by emptying the pit. ◆Installation with manhole toilets If the number of toilets provided by Arsona α is insufficient, using the stored manhole toilets can increase the number of available toilets. *For more details, please refer to the product catalog.

Free membership registrationEven during disasters, the use of toilets is essential, but the concerns regarding toilets heard from evacuation centers are very serious. **Voices from people in evacuation centers during disasters:** - Cannot use flush toilets (due to sewer breaks, water outages, power outages, etc.) - Temporary toilets have not arrived (due to road conditions; drinking water and food are prioritized) - Secondary disasters (such as economy syndrome) - Defecation is a physiological phenomenon that cannot be held back (many people refrain from drinking water) - Toilets during disasters are traditional style and cannot be squatted in - Cannot be used due to steps - Unsanitary (no one to manage them) - Especially scary at night - Privacy issues - No separation between men and women - Concerns about shadows - Concerns about noise - Cannot use them due to unfamiliarity - Want toilets that women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities can use safely! *From the toilet seminar for strengthening disaster response functions by the NPO Japan Toilet Association* With our disaster response hybrid toilet "Arsona α," we can solve various concerns such as sewer breaks and hygiene and privacy issues! *For more details, please refer to the catalog available for download below.*

Free membership registrationThe composite disaster toilet system "Alsona α + Manhole Toilet" is a sewer-connected system centered around Alsona α, allowing for adjustments in the number of users based on the size of the pit tank according to the installation location. Additionally, by incorporating a manhole toilet, the number of toilets can be increased depending on the disaster situation. 【Method of Waste Disposal in the Pit】 A certain amount of water is used to open a valve connected to the main sewer line from the pit, allowing the accumulated waste to flow out. (If the restoration of infrastructure takes a long time and direct drainage into the sewer is not possible, it can be continuously used by pumping out the waste.) *After returning to the original flush toilet, pumping, cleaning, and disinfection will be carried out during a period that does not hinder recovery. 【Key Points for Choosing the Disaster Response Hybrid Toilet "Alsona α"】 ■ It quickly transforms into a disaster toilet just by removing the TF cap with a dedicated tool! ■ There is no need to install a separate disaster toilet, maintaining the toilet environment. ■ Suitable for public facilities and BCP (Business Continuity Planning) measures. *For more details, please refer to the catalog available for download below.
