The Roadside Earthquake Resistance Promotion Council conducts various activities aimed at realizing the "Basic Plan for National Resilience," allowing local residents to live safely in their familiar towns, with participation and cooperation from each prefecture, city, and municipality, as well as property owners who are now obligated to comply, and stakeholders involved in seismic assessments, renovation design, and construction. Particularly regarding the seismic retrofitting of condominiums, efforts are being made to support consensus-building activities and cooperation, addressing the seismic retrofitting of roads based on the conditions of each building and the characteristics of the region through nationwide initiatives. To increase the seismic retrofitting rate within a limited timeframe, past experiences and achievements are crucial points.

Researching the reasons that do not lead to seismic retrofitting, this is a theme that includes both technical and soft aspects.
