We are pleased to announce that Protec Engineering has been certified as an "Official Supporter of Basin Flood Control for Fiscal Year 2025" by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. The Official Supporter System for Basin Flood Control is a new flood disaster countermeasure aimed at protecting the lives and livelihoods of citizens from increasingly severe and frequent flooding. It promotes awareness of and encourages initiatives by companies and organizations engaged in "basin flood control." Our company will engage in activities to raise awareness of the concepts, necessity, and significance of basin flood control through our website and events such as exhibitions.

Protech Engineering (Booth Number: C-042) will be exhibiting at "EE Tohoku '25," scheduled to be held on June 4 (Wednesday) and June 5 (Thursday), 2025. On that day, we will introduce products for debris flow, collapsing earth, avalanche, and falling rock countermeasures using models and videos, as well as showcase construction examples and the impact loading experiments conducted with actual test specimens. We have newly added the temporary protective fence "QT Fence," which can be used for emergency measures and temporary measures after disasters, to our product lineup and have begun sales. The QT Fence is a temporary protective fence that can withstand rockfall energy of up to 10 kJ and can be installed manually. It can be set up in a short period, making it ideal for emergency measures after disasters. The experiments are conducted in accordance with the "Performance Verification Method by Experiment" outlined in the "Rockfall Mitigation Handbook (December 2017 Revised Edition / Public Interest Incorporated Association Japan Road Association)," ensuring that products used from the temporary measures stage until the installation of permanent measures have verified performance, thereby contributing to improved safety on site. Its simple structure and lightweight components allow for easy installation and removal. The posts are designed to connect with a single pipe and post frame, enabling assembly in about 30 minutes per unit, which enhances workability. Additionally, the components can be stored compactly, making them suitable for stockpiling as emergency supplies after disasters. If there is no storage space available, we can quickly deliver items stored at our factory. By adding the temporary protective fence to our lineup, we will flexibly respond to various needs on site.

We would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to those affected by the Noto heavy rain that occurred in September of Reiwa 6. Protech Engineering has donated 500,000 yen as a relief fund to Ishikawa Prefecture for the benefit of those affected. We would like to report that we received a letter of thanks from the Governor of Ishikawa Prefecture in response. We sincerely pray for the swift recovery and reconstruction of the affected areas.

On January 20, 2025, Protech Engineering accepted an administrative inspection by the "Special Committee for Disaster Prevention and Carbon Neutral Society" at the request of the Niigata Prefectural Assembly. We provided explanations about the development of natural disaster countermeasure products such as rockfall protection fences, as well as guided them through our manufacturing facility and one of the largest disaster prevention experimental sites in the country. In response, we received a letter of thanks from the Chairman of the Niigata Prefectural Assembly, which we would like to report. We will continue to maintain sound management so that we can cooperate with such administrative activities in the future.

We received a letter of appreciation from the Japan Committee for UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders again this year. Our company donates a portion of our profits to UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders every year. We will continue to maintain sound management so that we can keep this activity going in the future.

On January 20, 2025, Protec Engineering accepted an administrative inspection from the Niigata Prefectural Assembly's "Special Committee for Disaster Prevention and Carbon Neutral Society" at their request. During the visit, we provided explanations about the development of natural disaster countermeasure products such as rockfall protection fences, as well as guided them through our manufacturing facility and one of the largest disaster prevention experimental sites in Japan. The Niigata Prefectural Assembly's "Special Committee for Disaster Prevention and Carbon Neutral Society" was established to investigate matters related to disaster prevention and mitigation measures, the promotion of land resilience, the strengthening of crisis management functions, and efforts towards realizing a carbon-neutral society, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the promotion of renewable and next-generation energy, in preparation for increasingly severe and frequent natural disasters and emerging infectious diseases. On the day of the inspection, we welcomed Chairperson Jun Sato and 13 other committee members, along with local council member Yoshikazu Iwamura from the Kitakambara District. We explained our company's efforts in disaster prevention, focusing on product development. Afterward, by actually viewing the manufacturing site and the disaster prevention experimental facility used for impact testing of protective structures against rockfalls, the committee members were able to gain a deeper understanding of our initiatives.
