Intertek Certification Co., Ltd. has been registered as a verification organization for the emission trading system "GX-ETS" based on the GX Promotion Act. GX-ETS is an emission trading system introduced as part of the GX (Green Transformation) policy aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Target businesses are required to calculate and report their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and the verification organization plays a role in confirming the emissions reported by businesses from a third-party perspective, ensuring their reliability. Our company has previously supported corporate decarbonization and sustainability initiatives as a registered verification organization for GHG emissions and Carbon Footprint (CFP) based on ISO 14064 and ISO 14067, as well as a verification organization for Tokyo and Saitama Prefectures and the GX League. Through this registration, we will leverage our expertise in GHG verification and experience in third-party verification to ensure the reliability of emission data for companies subject to GX-ETS, and contribute to improving the reliability of emission information and compliance with the system as a third-party organization supporting corporate GX and decarbonization management.
