Stainless steel piping is a representative of sustainable piping that excels in durability, hygiene, and toughness. However, traditionally, it required a high level of technical or equipment expertise, resulting in high costs, which prevented its widespread use in general piping. The mechanical joints proposed by Benkan have reduced the level of expertise required for installation and achieved cost reductions, leading to its adoption in general piping. Nowadays, it is widely used not only in facilities where sustainability is particularly required, such as hospitals, police stations, fire stations, government buildings, welfare facilities, and schools, but also in a variety of buildings including hotels, commercial spaces, intelligent buildings, condominiums, and single-family homes for water supply, hot water supply, and air conditioning piping. Furthermore, we are also working on the development of aluminum piping as a new material for the future, not just limited to stainless steel piping.
