This allows for a reduction in construction time and costs. Additionally, by converting existing fixtures to LED, electricity consumption, electricity costs, and CO2 emissions can be reduced. At that time, there were existing solar lights that were not functioning, which further spread anxiety and left lingering dissatisfaction. It has become clear that a lack of reliable lighting during disasters can hinder evacuation efforts.

The 'Machi-da-kun' that has obtained a joint patent through a collaborative development with Machida City, Tokyo, is an LED lighting system with disaster prevention capabilities that has been implemented in over 1,300 units nationwide. It can be installed with just electrical work, enhancing disaster prevention capabilities at the station front in a short period of time. During normal times, it lights up as regular bright lighting, and during a power outage, it automatically switches to battery-powered lighting.
