Atect Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of metal and ceramic injection molding, is a comprehensive PIM manufacturer that consistently handles everything from material development and manufacturing to molding, sintering, and secondary processing. "PIM" stands for Powder Injection Molding, a technology that involves injection molding using a material made by mixing metal (MIM) or ceramic (CIM) powders with an organic binder. Processing shapes that require precision often relies on cutting, which can pose challenges in terms of mass production and cost when dealing with large quantities, and there are also constraints on processing methods for complex shapes. Our technology provides solutions to these challenging issues! 【Features】 ■ High freedom in materials allows for the injection molding of various metals and ceramics into complex shapes. ■ Our technology enables the molding and sintering of high-melting-point metals such as stainless steel and titanium with high precision. ■ Silicon nitride and aluminum nitride, which are gaining attention as heat dissipation materials for electric vehicles and power semiconductors, can also be molded using our technology. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationThis booklet provides an easy-to-understand explanation of the metal and ceramic molding technology "PIM" through manga. PIM is a method of shaping by injecting powdered raw materials into a mold. There are two types: "MIM" and "CIM," both of which can be produced at Atect. 【Features】 ■ The binder has high fluidity, allowing it to reach the details of the mold. ■ Suitable for small parts and complex shapes. ■ It has high dimensional accuracy in a near-net state, eliminating the need for post-processing such as cutting. ■ Unlike cutting, a large number of parts can be produced from a single mold. ■ By changing the mold, parts of various shapes can be created. ■ High-hardness parts with good dimensional accuracy can be produced without worrying about the hardness of the tools. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case study of PIM utilization by Atect Co., Ltd. Our company has successfully commercialized turbine blades with a fingertip size (outer diameter of 10mm and a thickness of 0.16mm at the tip of the wing) using Inconel 713C, which can withstand operating temperatures close to 1000°C, by applying the technology of PIM methods for automotive turbo engine parts that we have been developing. The application is expected to expand into "compact, lightweight, high-output power sources" such as micro gas turbines and ultra-micro gas turbines. In the future, we will propose sintered bodies of ultra-micro turbine blades made from various ceramic materials we possess, achieving significant weight reduction and durability at temperatures exceeding 1000°C. [Challenges Addressed] ■ Practical application of fingertip-sized turbine blades ■ Commercialization using Inconel 713C that can withstand temperatures close to 1000°C *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case study of PIM utilization by Atect Co., Ltd. As the CPU processing speeds of PCs and smartphones increase, the power generation has grown, necessitating high-precision components made from ceramic materials. Our company can manufacture excellent heat dissipation and insulation components using ceramics that have been thermally conductive through our unique technology, leveraging the high emissivity that ceramics inherently possess. These can be applied in various forms such as CPU heat sinks, fin-type heat sinks, pyramid-type heat sinks, pole-type heat sinks, and thin heat sinks. [Challenges Addressed] ■ Manufacturing of high-precision components using ceramic materials *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case study on the use of PIM by Atect Co., Ltd. Improvements in processes that were previously difficult have now become possible through the PIM method. With PIM technology, it has become feasible to mold two separate parts, combine them before sintering, and achieve integration through simultaneous sintering. We have established a mass production technology for low-cost, high-quality parts, enabling us to respond to orders that have doubled compared to the previous year. [Resolved Issues] - Around 2018, linear bearings faced a global shortage of parts, causing delivery times for machine tools to exceed one year, which became a serious issue. We established a mass production system that doubled compared to the previous year. - We made it possible to achieve integrated sintering of two parts. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationWe would like to introduce a case study on the use of PIM by Atect Co., Ltd. In the next-generation gasoline turbo, it is expected that a variable nozzle vane mechanism will replace the conventional wastegate bubble. However, since it is exposed to higher temperatures compared to diesel engines, there has been a demand for mass production using materials that can withstand more severe environments. With the PIM method, it has become possible to mass-produce high-strength alloys that are more heat-resistant, which was previously difficult to achieve, with high precision and low cost. This will adequately respond to the increasing performance demands in the automotive industry. [Resolved Issues] ■ Mass production using materials that can withstand severe environments *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
