Sludge generally refers to a muddy substance that contains moisture. It can be found in treatment facilities for factory wastewater generated during various manufacturing processes, as well as in sedimentation tanks of water treatment facilities such as sewage treatment plants and water purification plants. Additionally, it can be found in civil engineering and construction sites, as well as in sediment at the bottoms of drainage channels, rivers, and lakes. It is said that the amount of sludge generated accounts for one-third of all industrial waste. At Toei, we reduce volume and stabilize sludge by granulating and solidifying it, which also improves its handling properties. The granulated and solidified material can be recycled as civil engineering materials for ancillary road construction and backfilling at civil engineering and construction sites. In April 2001, in accordance with the "Home Appliance Recycling Law," Toei was authorized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a designated collection point and recycling facility for discarded home appliances. Currently, Toei is engaged in the designated collection and recycling of CRT televisions, flat-screen televisions such as LCD and plasma, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, air conditioners, clothes dryers, as well as computers and motorcycles as specified by the Home Appliance Recycling Law. We are recycling all components, starting with the CRT of televisions. We are conducting research on recycling for the future, working towards increasing the recycling rate in a more efficient and comfortable factory environment, and continuing our efforts towards complete resource recovery. Sandwave G is a granulated sand made from 100% recycled colored glass pins and glass scraps, which have previously been discarded or landfilled due to their difficulty in recycling. Through the manufacturing process, these materials are crushed and made edge-less, resulting in a product with excellent permeability and compaction characteristics. It possesses performance equal to or greater than natural sand (mountain sand, river sand, sea sand) and can be used as a substitute for sand. It is particularly suitable for sand drain and sand compaction materials required for soft ground improvement, as well as a wide range of other applications as a sand substitute.
