Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO Shigeki Mori) has successfully developed a transparent conductive metal oxide thin film on thin glass (0.7mm thick) using CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) technology in an online glass manufacturing process. This 0.7mm transparent conductive film (TCO) glass, named 'NSG TEC', is the world's thinnest glass with a transparent conductive film that can be produced using online CVD. Transparent conductive film glass is increasingly being adopted for various applications, including solar cells, construction, vehicles, medical use, and various electronic devices, with further possibilities for application expanding. To meet the needs of these applications, Nippon Sheet Glass has introduced CVD equipment capable of producing metal oxide films online, enabling the thinning and lightweighting of glass while also producing and developing durable and chemical-resistant transparent conductive films. Moving forward, we will continue to propose the 0.7mm transparent conductive film (TCO) glass 'NSG TEC' as a next-generation material to our customers and prepare for its practical application.

(Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO Shigeki Mori) has recently received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award at the 2017 Energy Conservation Grand Prize (Product and Business Model Category) for its ultra-high insulation vacuum glass "Super Spacia(R)." This is the third time that a vacuum glass product has received an award, following the vacuum glass "Spacia(R)" (FY 1998) and the multi-layer vacuum glass "Spacia 21(R) Heat Shield Clear" (FY 2013). The ultra-high insulation vacuum glass "Super Spacia(R)" is our new product launched in October last year. Compared to the conventional vacuum glass "Spacia(R)," it has improved insulation performance by approximately 54% (achieving a thermal transmittance of 0.65 W/(m2·K)). Despite being only 10.2 mm thick, it achieves insulation performance equivalent to or greater than that of 50 mm thick glass wool used as insulation material. The award-winning product can be viewed at our booth in the award corner of "ENEX 2018, the 42nd Earth Environment and Energy Harmony Exhibition," which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from February 14 (Wednesday) to 16 (Friday), 2018 (organized by the Energy Conservation Center, Japan).
