Free membership registrationThe expansion joints of road bridges have been treated as secondary components in design, despite being subjected to harsh conditions where they directly receive repeated vehicle loads. Additionally, the mechanism for transmitting forces to the expansion joints has not been clearly defined, and fatigue strength checks have hardly been conducted. Our company has conducted fatigue tests to confirm durability and developed the "KMA Joint," which meets the required performance of expansion joints: "stability during operation," "static and dynamic durability," "ensuring movement," "water-tightness," and "low noise and low vibration." To reduce the time required for replacing expansion joints, we have improved the anchoring structure that fixes the expansion joints to the deck slab by introducing prestress into the steel rods of our Sepec Joint, using a perforated jib for the anchoring structure.
