Free membership registrationThe vibration monitor model 1-809 is a single-channel device that measures and protects the vibrations of critical rotating machinery. The machine vibration level is displayed on a 4-digit LED. The readings are shown in ips (inches per second) for velocity or in mils for displacement, and a 4-20mA output proportional to the predetermined vibration level is provided. Two alarms are available for early warning or machine shutdown due to excessive vibration. The vibration monitor model 1-809 is a panel-mount type and can be used with velocity or acceleration (with amplifier) converters. The input signal is filtered by a bandpass filter with sharp cutoff characteristics specified at the time of order. The filtering is designed to exclude frequency signals outside the operating speed of interest for the machinery. This allows model 1-809 to track only the energy present within the filter bandwidth.
