SKF has signed a sales agreement with Certas Energy, a company under DCC plc, which is the largest independent distributor of fuels and lubricants in the UK. As part of this agreement, Certas Energy will become an SKF RecondOil certified partner in the UK and will provide this unit to industrial customers based on the concept of "oil as a service." This agreement complements Certas Lubricant Solutions' traditional sales partnership with one of the world's leading manufacturers of industrial fluids, allowing Certas's customers to utilize circular and sustainable lubrication systems. SKF's RecondOil Box enhances a deep filtration system that employs RecondOil's patented Dual Separation Technology (DST), regenerating used lubricating oil to reduce oil consumption and handling operations while improving machine performance in the process.

SKF's innovative technology package has extended the practical lifespan of the critically important regenerative bearings installed on eight train sets of Ningbo Rail Transit from 800,000 km to 1,000,000 km. This project marks the first commercial application of SKF's Insight Metro wireless condition monitoring system, developed domestically to meet the specific demands of China's railway sector. Insight Metro is a battery-powered, self-contained condition monitoring unit that records individual bearing speed, temperature, and vibration data, transmitting this data to the SKF cloud via a secure mobile network connection. The unit can operate autonomously for up to six months and can be charged on-site using wireless charging technology when needed. Ningbo Rail Transit has deployed 96 Insight Metro units across approximately 200 train sets operating on "Line 1," which connects 46 km east-west across the city. These new units are installed on the long-distance running bearings of axle units and provide early warnings if any signs of wear or damage are detected.
