In the 21st century, as we advance international development, we believe our mission is to create a better culture of architectural finishing. At SK Kaken, we have consistently worked towards realizing such themes while expanding the fields of comprehensive architectural coatings and new chemical building materials. In 1955, we were established as "Shikoku Chemical Research Institute" with the motto of "Creating something from nothing" in the field of chemical coatings. In the first ten years, we laid the foundation as a company, and in 1963, we changed our name to "Shikoku Kaken Kogyo Co., Ltd." and continued to grow aiming to become a leading manufacturer of architectural coatings. Then, in April 1991, we evolved our company name to the current "SK Kaken Co., Ltd." In 2005, we celebrated our 50th anniversary and entered a second phase of growth, positioning ourselves as a comprehensive manufacturer of new architectural coatings, special paints, fireproof insulation materials, chemical building materials, and renovation finishing materials with a global perspective. We are promoting the modernization of comprehensive architectural finishing, expanding renovation demand, responding to global warming through energy conservation, and improving environmental and aesthetic qualities by developing new products and exploring new markets.
