Introduction to CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) as a Building Material
"What is CLT?" Introducing a completely new wooden structure that is rapidly spreading around the world.
CLT, or Cross Laminated Timber, is a large panel made by stacking layers of laminated boards with their grain direction oriented perpendicular to each other and glued together. It is a new wood-based structural material that has been developed primarily in Austria since the mid-1990s. Today, it is being used in various buildings across European countries, and in North America and Oceania, standardization and factory production have begun, showing rapid expansion worldwide. In Japan, it is gaining attention as a new structural material to replace traditional wooden construction methods, steel frame construction, and reinforced concrete construction. It is rapidly developing as a key solution for the effective utilization of domestic timber, with collaboration between the public and private sectors. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
