High-performance inspection of blowholes and cracks occurring in the welds of spherical aluminum tanks!

The "Spherical LNG Tank Ultrasonic TOFD Flaw Detection Device" is a flaw detection device designed to efficiently inspect for blowholes and cracks that occur in the welded joints of spherical aluminum tanks mounted on LNG carriers. Due to the low specific gravity of aluminum welds, blowholes are prone to occur, and they are generally inspected using X-rays. We would like to introduce a case of ultrasonic testing conducted from the weld bead. The specifications of the test object are JIS G 3452, material SGP, and dimensions 150A, Sch80. The testing was carried out using the TPAC Explore64/64 device. Additionally, ultrasonic testing from the weld bead was also performed using perpendicular scanning.
