This is an introduction to a case study of the integrated structural calculation software 'Super Build/SS7' for a single-story kindergarten made of steel. The project is a single-story kindergarten with a steel frame, featuring a building with a floor plan measuring 53m x 30m. It is located in the suburbs, where a relatively large site was available, allowing for a single-story layout. To apply for a single-story structure, we conducted manual calculations to verify the establishment of the rigid floor assumption for the roof section and the "stress transfer" in the frame sections. Additionally, we held preliminary meetings to discuss the feasibility of obtaining building confirmation for a single-story structure. We would like to introduce a case study of the structural calculation software "WALL-1" for wall-type reinforced concrete buildings. At the office of Shuji Tada Structural Design, they handle numerous structural designs for wall-type residences of 100m² and 200m² scale, as well as compact apartment buildings with a total floor area of around 200 to 1000m². In residential and small-scale apartment buildings, most reinforced concrete structures are wall-type. As they began to handle nearly 10 wall-type projects annually, and due to the stricter confirmation application process following the earthquake falsification incident, they considered introducing wall-type integrated structural calculation software. "I was recommended 'WALL-1' by an acquaintance as being easy to use, and after trying it out, I found it very user-friendly because it allows for smooth insertion of openings and enables the creation of approximate models in a short time to obtain results. It has a good reputation among cooperating offices, which led us to decide to implement it. We started using it around 2009, and now we use WALL-1 for almost all our projects. All three buildings are planned as steel structures, adopting a pure moment-resisting frame to allow for flexibility and adaptability in the interior space. Building B is designed as an indoor play facility, featuring a large open space with a single span. The U-shaped floor plan is designed to avoid the existing gymnasium and takes into account the impact of rain and snow on the building throughout the year in the Hokuriku climate.
