Presentation of Useful Materials for Subsidence Correction Work: Explanation of the Underpinning Method

Not only correct the sinking of the building, but also prevent further sinking! Construction can be carried out while occupied.

The "underpinning method" is commonly used in settlement repair work, where the load of the building is supported by steel pipe piles driven into the foundation using jacks, allowing for the entire building to be corrected. It prevents re-settlement and allows for construction to be carried out while residents remain in the building, without the need to move out. There is minimal noise, vibration, and dust generation, and the space required for equipment storage is also minimized. 【Features】 ■ The load of the building is supported by steel pipe piles driven into the foundation using jacks, correcting the entire building. ■ Construction can be carried out while residents remain in the building, without the need to move out. ■ Minimal noise, vibration, and dust generation. ■ Space-efficient equipment storage. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

The gaps in the windows and doors are concerning... the cause might be "ground movement"!

The cause of doors that won't close completely and gaps that won't fill may be the "tilt of the building"! We can solve your concerns by correcting the tilt through "settlement repair work"!

"The door doesn't close properly." "There is a half-open gap in the window." Do you have such concerns? The cause may be the "tilting" due to changes in the building's foundation. "Settlement correction work" is a construction process to fix the sinking or deformation of buildings caused by ground subsidence, landslides, volume compression of fill, or crustal movements due to earthquakes, in order to restore stability. If such tilting is left unaddressed, it may lead to extensive repairs later on, or there is a possibility of significant damage during natural disasters such as earthquakes, so early intervention is crucial. We propose methods tailored to the current ground conditions, including the "steel pipe pile driving method," "pressure-resistant slab method," and "foundation raising method," to correct the tilt and prevent re-sinking. Our company, which has numerous construction achievements, will guide you according to your concerns and the state of the ground and tilt. Additionally, we have a model of the settlement correction work on display at our headquarters. If you wish to visit, please feel free to contact us. 【Types of Methods】 ■ Steel pipe pile driving method ■ Pressure-resistant slab method ■ Combined method of steel pipe pile driving and pressure-resistant slab ■ Foundation raising method *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Construction Example] Warehouse and Factory in Sapporo City, Hokkaido

We would like to introduce a case where we made corrections in a short time without stopping the customer's operations!

This is a case study of floor sinking correction work and void filling work conducted at a warehouse and factory located in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Due to floor sinking, the racks used for storing goods had become tilted. As a temporary measure, spacers were used under the racks to adjust their height and level them. The sinking correction work was carried out in a limited space, and within a few hours, the floor was made flat. Additionally, sinking correction work was performed in the office without interrupting the customer's operations. [Case Study] - Total construction area: Approximately 334 m² - Maximum sinking amount: 105 mm - Construction period: 3 days *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Construction Case] Shopping Center (Iwate Prefecture): Subfloor Settlement Correction Work

Maximum subsidence 71mm, maximum gap 190mm! Conducting polyurethane resin injection work while constantly checking the level!

A shopping center where widespread floor subsidence was observed due to ground subsidence. As a result of the floor subsidence, gaps appeared between the floor and walls, causing various issues throughout the store. Therefore, our company implemented repairs. The "Upcon Method," which can be executed at night during the business closure, was adopted for the repairs. Additionally, since voids were also observed under the floor, filling work was carried out. 【Construction Overview】 ■ Construction Area: Approximately 540m2 ■ Maximum Subsidence: 71mm ■ Maximum Void: 190mm ■ Construction completed in 2011, with repairs conducted over a continuous 7-night period. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Construction Case] Joban Expressway Nagareyama IC Restoration and Repair Work - Settlement Correction Work

Heisei 25 Fiscal Year Joban Expressway Nagareyama IC Restoration and Repair Work

The expressways that suffered tremendous damage due to the Great East Japan Earthquake. On the Tohoku Expressway, there were 347 km of damage, and on the Joban Expressway, 153 km, with collapses and uneven road surfaces occurring at four interchanges. Upcon is conducting corrections for the sinking of concrete slabs on roads and airport aprons. Full-scale restoration work began the year after the earthquake, and our technology, which allows for corrections without breaking existing slabs and within a short construction period, was adopted for the restoration work. This time, we will introduce a case of disaster recovery work for concrete pavement slabs at the Nagareyama tollgate, commissioned by East Nippon Expressway Company. Due to the sinking of the concrete pavement slabs, the water gradient could not be maintained, resulting in puddles forming in front of the ETC sensors. Every time a vehicle passed, water splashed, causing malfunctions in the sensors. We carried out sinking correction work using the Upcon method and restored the water gradient within a short construction period. 【Site Information】 Chiba Prefecture / Nagareyama IC Total construction area: 875 square meters Construction period: 8 nights

[Construction Example] Restoration Work of a Wooden House in Mihama 3-chome, Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture

It was a satisfactory construction project! Here is an introduction to a case study of a wooden house slope restoration work.

Here is a case study of a wooden house slope restoration project. "Settlement correction work and liquefaction countermeasures are different things." "You must not abuse the foundation and the ground." "A shorter construction period is better." Based on these three points, we received the request from our client. We constructed a flat foundation over an area of 89m2 using a multi-point interval method. The construction period was 12 days. As a result, the work was satisfactory, and we received words of gratitude such as, "Each role was clear, and there was no waste in the flow of the entire construction process." [Case Overview] ■ Location: Mihama, Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture ■ Building Name: Residence ■ Structure and Scale: Two-story wooden house ■ Foundation Structure: Flat foundation ■ Total Restoration Weight: Approximately 60 t *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Construction Case] Restoration of Office Building Ground Subsidence Due to the Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake

Restoration of office building subsidence! We will introduce an example of a building with 6 floors above ground and 1 basement level.

In the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, localized loosening occurred in the foundation of office buildings due to liquefaction and intense vibrations over a wide area of the coastal region, and we restored the areas that had sunk. We entered the underground pit (900mm) from the opening on the first basement floor and drilled holes. Additionally, since the groundwater level is at GL-1.0m, we installed injection pipes while performing water stop injections for the pressurized water. Due to the irregular shape of the building, we measured the uplift both externally and internally to confirm any bulging, and we applied JOG to prevent distortion. 【Case Overview】 ■ Location: 2-chome, Sakaemachi, Chuo Ward, Kobe City ■ Building Name: Office Building ■ Structure and Scale: RC structure, 1 basement floor, 6 above-ground floors ■ Foundation Structure: Slab foundation ■ Total Restoration Weight: Approximately 3,500t *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
