Expancel microspheres

Microcapsules for thermal expansion that are active in various applications.

Foaming agents and lightweight fillers, all-in-one functional materials. Thermal expansion microcapsules Expancel increase in volume by 60 to 100 times when heated between 80°C and 200°C, becoming ultra-lightweight microbubbles. The expanded product is a very light microbubble that achieves both weight reduction and improved thermal insulation.

Microencapsulation technology that grants self-repairing functions [Kagoshima University]

I will heal my own wounds! A technique that triggers a hardening reaction to repair materials.

Introducing the "Microencapsulation Technology for Self-Healing Functions." By combining microcapsules (MC) containing repair agents with metal catalysts that are less prone to degradation from heat, we achieve "self-healing materials" with excellent long-term stability. Potential applications include fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP), construction materials such as roofs and exterior walls, and coating materials like paints and sealants. 【Self-Healing Mechanism】 1. Disperse MC containing catalysts and repair agents within the material. 2. When a crack reaches the MC, the repair agent is released. 3. The repair agent and catalyst initiate a curing reaction, repairing the material. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
