RFID: Use Case - Inventory Management of Seasonings and Processed Foods <Factory>
Attach RFID tags at the pallet level to streamline inventory management of seasonings and processed foods!
At a major food manufacturer, barcode labels are affixed to the pallet packaging, and barcode labels indicating shelf numbers are attached to the mobile racks, allowing for inventory management that includes location tracking. However, this process requires a significant amount of time for barcode scanning during stocktaking and shipping/receiving. Additionally, in the flat storage area, management is based on experience and intuition due to free location storage, which also takes time to locate items. As a solution, since it is difficult to attach RFID tags to individual items, RFID tags are either affixed to the pallet packaging or utilized from RFID tags mounted on the pallets. Inventory management in mobile racks and flat storage areas is being streamlined using Locus Fork.
