[Case Study] Management of Temporary Equipment Using UHF Band RFID Tags
Significant improvements in record keeping, location management, and usage history! Here is a case study of implementation at a certain temporary equipment rental company.
We will introduce case studies of IC tags and labels that can be used on-site, which our company handles. A certain rental company for temporary equipment was recording the lending and returning of numerous rental items using barcodes. However, it took a lot of time to read each item individually, and there were many issues such as the labels being dirty and unreadable. Additionally, when considering the use of UHF-band metal-compatible tags, there were several conditions such as the ability to withstand high-pressure washing, impact resistance, and long-term outdoor durability, all of which were resolved by introducing FR4 metal-compatible tags. [Challenges Before Implementation] ■ Lending and Return Processing - It took a lot of time to read each barcode individually, and there were instances where readings could not be performed due to dirt on the barcode surface, resulting in significant labor costs. ■ Location and History Management - There were frequent instances of record omissions during lending and return processing, leading to unknown locations and inaccurate usage history, making proper maintenance difficult. ■ Inventory - In recent years, there have been strict criticisms during accounting audits regarding omissions in asset recording, but inventory takes an enormous amount of time. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
