Proposal for Utilizing CAD: To Keep Up with i-Construction

The construction and civil engineering industry faces stricter laws and intense market competition! Innovation grounded in reality!

Since 2016, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has been promoting "i-Construction" as an initiative to improve productivity across the entire construction production system and aim for attractive construction sites. It is undeniable that 2D drawings are still the mainstream in architecture, especially on-site. However, with the rapid advancement of 3D data utilization such as BIM modeling, there are increasing cases where traditional CAD cannot keep up. With 'BricsCAD', based on general 2D design data, the transition to 3D design can be advanced without financial strain. Furthermore, by using 3D data as a core, you can step up to cutting-edge industry initiatives such as BIM and VR. [Points for Extended Use of CAD Possible with BricsCAD] ■ High compatibility with AutoCAD ■ Conversion to JW and SXF ■ Support for point cloud data and rendering ■ Easy to start with BIM *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

What are the important points for selecting 2D CAD?

BricsCAD, which also considers future 3D capabilities. A single platform that connects 2D, 3D, and BIM all through .dwg.

Currently, in the manufacturing and construction industries, an increasing number of companies have shifted from 2D CAD to 3D CAD design. However, the actual adoption of 3D design varies by field and product; while it is becoming common in sectors like automotive and consumer electronics, many companies in industrial machinery and construction still rely on 2D CAD for their designs. In the context of digitalization in manufacturing, such as smart factories, and new initiatives in construction like BIM and i-Construction, it is essential to consider a hybrid CAD operation that incorporates 3D and BIM in the future. BricsCAD is a unique all-in-one platform that connects 2D, 3D, and BIM through .dwg files. It allows for the creation of 3D data from previously created 2D design data, as well as the import of high-end 3D CAD data, which can be processed and easily converted to 2D in .dwg format, enabling seamless operation between 2D and 3D. We encourage you to consider a CAD solution that allows you to continue your current 2D design processes smoothly while preparing for future advancements. *You can download a free trial version from the related links.

Feature: "Four Reasons Why BricsCAD is Chosen"

Here are four reasons why the DWG-compatible CAD "BricsCAD," which is rapidly being adopted as a platform by large enterprises, is chosen!

■High Compatibility BricsCAD has high compatibility with AutoCAD, making migration easy. You can inherit your existing AutoCAD assets (dwg, dxf data) directly in BricsCAD. As a compatible CAD, it also supports features such as external reference editing, automatic dimension adjustment, multi-text editing, quick selection, wipeout, layer state management, and CUI menu files. ■High Cost Performance Despite supporting AI, it offers an astonishingly low-priced perpetual license. It can handle 2D, 3D, and BIM at this low price! Additionally, it offers a variety of licensing options, including network licenses, and is available for international use, allowing for cost reduction. ■Operate 2D, 3D, and BIM with the Same Software Creating 3D models from 2D drawings and unfolding 3D data into 2D drawings is easy. Since everything is in the same software, there is no need to launch different software for each data type. Being able to generate 3D data from 2D drawings makes it the best choice if you are considering transitioning to 3D in the future. ■Optimal Customization Available You can create your own commands to make it a more user-friendly CAD. BricsCAD provides development tools compatible with AutoCAD (LISP, SDS, COM, BRX, .Net).

3D disk drawing software "3D Disk Diagram"

3D board structure design tool based on BricsCAD Pro

The "3D Panel Diagram" is a tool for panel manufacturers that makes it easy to achieve "3D panel structure design," which is difficult with standard CAD commands. ■ Do you have these concerns? ■ - Operating 3D CAD is challenging - Collaboration with circuit design requires both 2D CAD and 3D CAD, making usability and data integration complicated - Unable to prepare the necessary component library for design By designing panels in 3D, it becomes possible to intuitively grasp the overall structure and perform interference checks. When used as an option with ACAD-DENKI, it allows for component integration with circuit diagrams. Based on the component information automatically extracted from the circuit diagram, it is possible to call up components that can be placed on the panel. ■ Features ■ ▼ Achieve panel design in 3D with the feel of 2D CAD - Adopting BricsCAD as the platform, it creates a unified design environment with consistent usability and data format (.dwg) for both 2D and 3D. ▼ Interference checks are possible - Interference checks during door opening and closing can be performed with the push of a button. Interference areas are highlighted on the 3D model. * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[BricsCAD Implementation Case] Mazda Corporation

2D CAD software for designing production lines and equipment. Adopting CAD software that bridges 2D and 3D for outstanding mass production line design in car manufacturing.

Mazda Corporation had been using high-market-share CAD software and free CAD software, but both had challenges, and they were looking for a product to transition to. As a 2D CAD software for designing production lines and equipment, they introduced 'BricsCAD,' which is provided by our company. Utilizing a licensing system that can be used globally, it is also being utilized at overseas production sites. Additionally, by using "BricsCAD Communicator," they are streamlining the process of converting 3D part design data created with high-end CAD into 2D CAD. [Challenges Before Implementation] ■ A CAD software compatible with 3D, 2D, and architectural CAD is needed. ■ The cost of conventional paid software is high, leading to a shortage. ■ Free CAD software causes disruptions in business due to bugs and other issues. *For more details, please refer to the related catalog "BricsCAD Implementation Case Studies."

[Case Study] Reducing license costs and improving operational efficiency compared to conventional CAD software.

As the number of CAD users increases, the burden of licensing costs and the expenses associated with 3D CAD in the efforts to transition to 3D, as well as the need for improved operational efficiency.

We have introduced BricsCAD to Takamiya Co., Ltd., which is engaged in the manufacturing, sales, and rental of temporary scaffolding. Originally, we were using a major 2D CAD software in Japan, but in recent years, with the increase in design workload, the staff has also grown. A few years ago, the licensing model for the same software switched to an annual contract, resulting in significant costs each year, which became a challenge. The technical department verified compatibility and usability with the free trial version and determined that there were no issues. With an eye on utilizing 3D features, we decided to implement the 2D-3D design .dwg compatible 'BricsCAD Pro'. In addition to reducing the burden of licensing costs compared to conventional CAD software, we achieved improved operational efficiency by utilizing customization features. [Challenges Before Implementation] ■ Licensing costs became an issue as the number of CAD users increased. ■ The cost burden of 3D CAD was also a bottleneck in our efforts to transition to 3D. ■ We wanted to reduce the workload of our in-house engineers. *For more details, please refer to the related catalog "BricsCAD Implementation Case Studies."
