It is a joining technology that can achieve weight reduction through the use of dissimilar materials while making use of existing welding lines.

Conventional joining technologies, such as resistance spot welding, cannot be used for modern multi-material vehicle bodies because the materials are either thermally incompatible or restricted. To meet these requirements, Berhof developed the WELTAC technology. This technology enables multi-material joining on existing welding lines, expanding design and engineering freedom.
