Introducing a case study on the implementation of specialized digital printing services for the interior of a pediatric medical center.

We would like to introduce a case study of our interior specialty digital printing service, "Signterior." We created a banner tapestry using the glass surface of the large hall at the "Gunma Prefectural Children's Medical Center," a hospital and medical facility. We digitized drawings made by hospitalized children and produced them using flatbed digital printing on trendy light-transmitting fabric. Signterior is a digital printing service specializing in building materials and interiors, operated by Sign Art Tech, a major inkjet output company. We own about 30 inkjet output machines, including those with a maximum width of 5 meters, and we also have various sewing processing equipment, allowing us to provide a consistent service from printing output to sewing processing. Yuzen printing, simply put, is a technique that uses a mixture of color materials and functional materials in the paste as ink for printing. This allows for the expression of a wide variety of colors and textures. It is possible to express unique color tones, such as corporate colors and school colors, through Yuzen printing. By controlling the subtle particle size of gold pigments, various shimmering effects can be achieved, and by using urethane, a soft, fluffy texture can be imparted to printed materials. So far, we have provided this technology for various "items," including product labels, coasters, direct mail, and decorative tatami mats. A tactile map and audio pen that enable individuals with visual impairments to enjoy the park without getting lost!

We created a tactile map that combines a voice pen (audio information) utilizing braille printing and QR code printing, aimed at providing enjoyment for visually impaired individuals. In the production process, we selected and filtered information rather than simply converting existing park maps into tactile maps. For example, we reduced visual information such as color and shape, while adding tactile, auditory, and olfactory information, focusing on the information that visually impaired individuals want to know. As interest in inbound tourism and Japanese cuisine rises, we proposed the sparkling sake "Mio" as an effective means to appeal to overseas customers. Since QR codes, which are widely used around the world, serve as the hook, there is no need to explain how to use them to international visitors coming to Japan. This makes the barrier to implementation very low, which is an attractive feature.
